MINI Oxford on Strike?!?!?

At least that's what the customer rep at 866-ASK-MINI told me when I asked for an update on Siva... I was halfway through ordering a plane ticket to England before he told me he was joking.

I think I may need to see a doctor for my blood pressure now.

The Reps are getting creative!

When my husband's MINI was on order last July, ASK-MINI knew him on a first name basis, he knew all of them, he knew their various work schedules/days off, and at one point, they threatened a restraining order against him

Too long. Siva hasn't even made it to the body shop yet. But the last person I spoke with gave me a tentative completion date of June 18th, but then of course there's the wait for the boat and the wait for the trip over the pond, etc etc. I'm just a bit obsessed and want to make a day by day calendar of his progress through the system.

Before I was told it was a joke....I think the last bit of glue holding the gasket in place would have blown and I would have needed my meds... Wow....

Then I would have laughed...

BTW, wbarnhill, I learned that you may get a different answer if you speak with someone else. At least that was my experience when I was trying to find out what "waiting for a carrier" meant.

Good luck and remember join a lot of support groups!!!

Wow, that really blows. But hopefully all it will mean is the weekend off. With sales of Mini's going so well(at least in the U.S.) it would be a disaster for that strike to be of any prolonged length.

My estimated completion date was June 17. I'm wondering if they're just going to hold off on new production or all production. I have a feeling 866-ASK-MINI will be flooded with calls tomorrow.

Thank goodness my car was finished today!!! I hope it doesn't delay getting it to the boat. Wow this sucks.

About 700 Minis are produced every day at Cowley, where 4,700 people work three shifts, seven days per week.
wow i didn't know they worked three shifts 7 days a week!!! Wow this is going to be bad.

When you call 866 Mini or whatever it is, you get different knowledge levels.
I called four times with questions about the process and seeking documentation. Twice, I had a great experience and twice I had a chucklehead who could barely answer the phone.

I just want to know how they knew my name right after they answered the phone before I had even given them any information. I guess they have caller ID? I swear that was only my second time calling and talking to a rep.

Yes. After you call the first time they take the information you give them and create a profile. The system will automatically pull up that profile if you call from the same number.
