Hello, all!

Thought I stop by, register and see what's up. Interesting place.

Here's a question for starters: how many all Mellow-Yellow Minis are out there?

I picked mine from the dealer's stock based more on the mechanical options than the paint. In fact, at first I was a little hesitant getting an all yellow car, thinking it looked better with the white top. However, my wife instantly fell in love with the car and called it Luigi, after the Fiat 500 in the movie CARS. As we left, the finance person at the dealer said that all yellow Minis are fairly rare and I have not seen one yet in San Diego.

Thoughts?
Ken

I can't say I've seen another all yellow either. I'd say they are pretty rare. I've seen both yellow with white roof/stripes and black roof/stripes on the road, but no all yellows unless I get close to a fuel delivery truck and check out my reflection.

Welcome

I haven't seen an all-yellow MINI in my area. Somehow I think you'll be a stand-out wherever you motor.

NAM has a couple of clubs you can join:
in the MINIs in General forum
go to the topic box General MINI talk and scroll through the threads;
you should soon see a Mellow Yellow Club,
and the Official Matching Roof and Body Color Club on page 5 I think.

I am waiting for the delivery of my Mellow Yellow. I have seen a couple in my area, San Francisco. But that is not unexpected. It seems that every second car in San Fran is either a MINI or Prius.

Thanks everyone. To be honest, my first choice was British Racing Green, but after seeing how dark that was, I went with the MY and haven't looked back.

Thanks to Red Dragon for the threads. I had found the Mellow Yellow thread, but not the Matching Roof and Body.

Is this a great car with great owners or what! I'm lovin' this!

San Francisco has always been first in the nation when it comes to coolness.

And Ken G., delighted you found matching body and roof colour club. Always cool to hang with kindred spirits.

Yep, I used to live in Alameda, right on the shoreline with a view of The City. I really miss that place, even tho San Diego is pretty darn nice. SF has a unique personality that I've never found anywhere else, it is simply a cool place. I mean, no-where else on the west coast are you going to find things like a model yacht club that's 108 years old.
