Painted Fender Problems?

Painted Fender Problems?
I am looking into the factory body kit for my R53, and I really want to paint the plastic fenders. However, when I asked my body shop they said that you can't get paint to stick to the plastic, and if you could, it wouldn't last very long.
Has anyone had any problems with painting the plastic fenders? Any problems with long term use?

Not 100% true!
Most cars on the road nowadays no longer have metal bumpers...they're either fiberglass or plastic.
MINIs have plastic bumpers...and guess what...they're PAINTED!
A flex-agent needs to be used.
The collision center that took care of Schultze's "injuries" after an accident in February AND an accident in March did an EXCELLENT job of painting the trim pieces and the upgraded aero kit. Only charged me $400.
My advice would be to ask someone else at that shop--or go to a different shop altogether.
Good luck!
