Obsessive Compulsive MINI Disorder (Support Group)

O.K. I have been on this site since April and read all postings. I feel like I have a problem, MINI on the Brain. Do any of you have the same behavior.

1.) Do you find yourself on this site day and night - waiting to contribute?
2.) Do you check the status of your pending MINI via OL? If so how many times a day?
3.) How many times a week do you drive by your MINI dealership (if close)?
4.) If not close, how often do you find yourself scoping out other MINI's in parking lots?
5.) Do you get excited about seeing other MINI's on the road?
6.) When done on this website, do you check out motoringfile.com?
7.) Do you imagine about possible upgrades?
8.) Have you become an expert on nautical miles and ship locations?

Feel free to add to the list, support is possible, but a cure is still lacking. Any suggestions$

I went through you questions, a couple didn't apply to me as I bought my MINI off the floor. Answered all yes.

I think you've hit on something here. You've defined normal. It's the rest of the universe that's nuts.

Motor On,

It's not a problem. I can stop any time I want. I just choose not to.

1.) Do you find yourself on this site day and night - waiting to contribute?

Yep

2.) Do you check the status of your pending MINI via OL? If so how many times a day?

Oh about twice a day.

3.) How many times a week do you drive by your MINI dealership (if close)?

Usually about once its about 3min from my house.

4.) If not close, how often do you find yourself scoping out other MINI's in parking lots?

Its close but I scope out other Minis all the time.

5.) Do you get excited about seeing other MINI's on the road?

Yep, it is really sad.

6.) When done on this website, do you check out motoringfile.com?

Never heard of it before this post. Seems cool though.
7.) Do you imagine about possible upgrades?

Yeah I think about them. I don't think I will do them for quite awhile though.
8.) Have you become an expert on nautical miles and ship locations?

Can't say that I am an expert but I do remember about nautical miles from physics.(i think I learnd about it them in physics)...

Hey, thats my production week.
With a new Clubman S halfway across the Atlantic, all I can think about is the movie, Titanic.

Yes, it is a sickness.....

And, by the way, most of us in Week 23 are now filling up our respective Ship threads with inane banter. Waddayagonnado?

I answered Yes to 6 of the 8 questions. Could I have OCMD? If so what would you recommend? I'm thinking that I need to answer all 8 Yes then I'll be fine.

I think a lot of the 23ers are actually 22ers. 23 was just more interesting. Technically, I was probably a 21er, but who's counting.

1.) Do you find yourself on this site day and night - waiting to contribute? YES

2.) Do you check the status of your pending MINI via OL? If so how many times a day? N/A

3.) How many times a week do you drive by your MINI dealership (if close)? N/A

4.) If not close, how often do you find yourself scoping out other MINI's in parking lots? YES

5.) Do you get excited about seeing other MINI's on the road? YES

6.) When done on this website, do you check out motoringfile.com? NO

7.) Do you imagine about possible upgrades? YES

8.) Have you become an expert on nautical miles and ship locations? N/A

9.) Do you check your email for responses from open threads? YES

10.) Do non-MINI owners think you're "just a bit outside"? YES

I've added two new ones to the list, but even so, with six (6) out of ten (10) I probably still don't qualify for OCMD. But honestly, that's just because the original post was skewed towards people who don't have their MINI's yet. It's just not fair! I shouldn't be disqualified from having OCMD just because I already have my very own MINI.

I will readily admit, perhaps the original list is a bit scewed to those MINI-in-waiting. Perhaps the OCMD should be applied to a wider MINI audience. So to qualify for the sickness, you need only qualify for four out of the now 10.

Oh NO...........yeah.....you already have it if you are posting all night to this board and dreaming of your MINI and checking out all of the other MINI's you see. Is this an accurate statement?

I preoccupy myself with daily debates (mostly in my head)... today was what is the best clear bra product out there, researched a half dozen products, giving a a dissertation on it at MIT tomorrow. Yesterday was whether or not I need a $100 switch (rear fog) to maintain stability in the toggle switch universe...

Yes! Guilty as Charged. I don't care!

The other choices are...... A lot more detrimental to my well being.

If you are going to be compulsive it might as well be with a MINI...

yes to ALL of them, i tracked my minis boat over the sea and plotted its location every time the boat reported, now that i have my mini i obsess over its apperence to a ungodly level. i washed it saturday, saturday night it was covered in pollen, i wiped it down sunday, sunday night it was covered in pollen, i washed it today, it was covered in pollen, i wiped it down earlier....went out to check on it...more pollen!!, going to have to wipe it down or wash it again tomorrow. interior: process for opening secret compartment, open glove box, get out microfiber pad, open secret compartment, get what ever, close SC, wipe the fingerprints, wipe chrome button for glove compartment, put back microfiber pad, close glove compartment, wipes down rest of interior at the end of the night. wheels, every two days, which means tomorrow. windex the glass and remove any bugs immeditly, i could have the cleanest mini on the road . i can openly admit i have OCMD

Posting to this 4 times in one day doesn't make me excessive, does it?

I mean, if I posted 5 times. That might be considered excessive. Especially if i was just kind of rambling about wanting my car to hurry up and get here.

We have GOT to be the coolest set of obsessive compulsives in the universe. Not just the MINIverse. Sigh...alternatives are just not bearable to contemplate.

And note to the OCMDs on appearance -- you KNOW you enjoy wiping it down every 6-12 hours...that's part of the fun. I know MY Mini duster now has a permanent place inside the car (so I can clean it before I leave the work parking lot to go into the building, and again just before I take off again....)

And we are gonna be even cooler OCDers when our freakin' MINI Poopers finally get here!
I want it ALL! I want it NOW!
