Lookie what I saw on the dealer's back lot this afternoon that wasn't there yesterday! Yup, that's my VIN! When we rolled up there were people from a PT Cruiser looking him over - don't think they understood when I said it was MY car!

 

CONGRATS!!! Beautiful car, that color was my second choice but I'm in a green mood atm. I can't wait until I get my baby!!!

Picked up the MINI today, glad to finally have it home.

Congrats to Mrs. Zoom and jasonsellers! Tons of Lightning Blue in this thread, LOL. My car is at the dealer now, but since I'm in Detroit and the car is at Classic MINI in Cleveland, I'm going to have to wait until Saturday to pick it up. The wait will be brutal [bites nails]

 

Don't feel bad, I've seen the car, taken photos but it doesn't come home until tomorrow They 'couldn't' get it prepped yesterday and the dealership is sponsoring a track day today so no one will be around to deliver the car. . . Only had about a dozen folks at our MINI club dinner last night ask how the new car was doing - had to tell them to swing by the dealership and let me know

 

Was yours held because its a 2009 JCW?

 

Nope! Also thought there may have been JCWs on my carrier so they prepped those first but found out last night our dealership doesn't get their first JCW until today's truck . . . they're just being slow . . .

 

Hey, at least your MINI didn't get left at the DOCKS in Charleston for a week.

Delivery was supposed to be yesterday, now I'll be lucky if I get him Friday.

 

Mine didn't get put on the truck until yesterday and I won't get it until next week. Hopefully Monday when I get home from vacation. At this point I feel like I'll never get my Mini.

 

Finally, the waiting is almost over. I got the call today from my MA; the Clubman has arrived at the dealership, and will be ready to pick up Friday. I'll have to wait until the weekend (its a 600-mile round trip), but she'll be home on Sunday - or maybe late Saturday if I'm feeling really energetic.

 

Woot! I have an appointment for Friday morning at 9:30 to pick up my car. I'm so stoked! I think I'll take a nice long road trip this weekend.

 

Have a safe pick-up drive! I'm getting mine on Saturday!

 

Mrs. Zoom is a little busy, but I thought she may want to share the photos from Barrett's Delivery and drive home yesterday. Barrett is safe at home snuggling with Penfold, and Tink.

 

All Right - The wait is officially over. Picked her up yesterday at 4pm, drove her home last night. Didn't get any pics on the way home; it was close to 7 by the time I hit the road, and dark by the time we hit any decent picture spots. Finally got home around midnight. Its all smiles from here on in.

 

Picked mine up last night. No satellite radio and the MA claims to have told me that it was no longer available. Can anybody tell me if this is an out and out lie?

Despite the lack of Sirius, I'm still happy with my car. So much so that I didn't even feel like making a stink about the radio. Best news of all, cop just gave me a warning when he pulled me over in the National Park for going twice the speed limit.

I call BS on the Sirius. I am about to call my MA about picking up my
car and I ordered Sirius. I will let you know (if I ever get my car).

I picked up my MINI this weekend too! Here are some pics:







The delivery process from Classic MINI was flawless as always, they rock there big time. Sea Bass drives perfect, the JCW tuning kit is nice and the exhaust sounds great [smooth and has a nice growl]. I look forward to finishing up the shakedown miles so I can kick it off its stilts and install the front control arm bushings, coilovers, and wheels!

I GOT MY CAR I GOT MY CAR!!! To late to take any pictures but Nigel is finally home. I can breath easy now.

Oh and Yes, I got my SIRIUS! Call your MA and blast them! They need to install it for free for you pronto! If he gives you any problems then call the corporate office and complain. That is total BS.

 

Hey, I'm one week behind you in week 25. I'm also headed to Port Hueneme in California. Anybody pickup a Mini in So. Cal that can give me an idea of how long it took to process through the VDC?

 

Well, my dealer is in Northern CA (Pleasanton), but the boat arrived at Port Hueneme late on 7-11 (Thursday evening) and the car was to the dealer on Tuesday. My MA had previously told me that it once the car leaves the VDC, they expect to see it the next day - I'd expect that SoCal dealers would expect the car the same day. That means that my car was at the VDC for about 3 days, which I think is pretty typical. Hope that helps - and good luck. The wait is almost over!

UPDATE!!!! Just got a call from the dealer that our car will be ready for pick-up on Friday [Aug.1]!!!

Dealer finished installing the aero kit, CF mirror caps and hood scoop, JCW scuttles and shifter, and 3M. Can't wait to drive it!
