Week 20 Support Group

I did a search but couldn't find a week 20 group. If there is one please excuse me and merge this.

Signed the papers and placed my order for my Clubman on 5-2-08.
MA goofed and put the wrong Int surface........I found this out on Sat 3rd about lunch.
Called my MA and he checked.........ALREADY in production.
Had to re-order another clubbie with correct surface. MA said it could delay it a week or so.
Now I can check both......have production numbers for both.
First one due to be finished 5-10-08
Second went in production today 5-6-08"thanks for info from 866-ask-mini"
Scheduled to finish 5-13-08.

That seems pretty quick to get into production and finish.
Now just to sit back and WAIT

Week 20 Support

congrats, n2hcky! I ordered my new baby on May 1st. First for me - I've driven BMW and Acura primarily - loved my 540i - lukewarm on Acura RL (handles better in snow than 540 did, but 320 days/year it is an 'ok' ride.)

Web site shows 'on order', call to ask Mini said it was scheduled for production but no date. I can't wait to get a date!!

Great info in forums on installation of GPS, XM, and Radar (Valentine1 is my friend!!) Already got my Garmin 660 - was able to load Green Mini Icon - ready to hit the road.

Keep me posted on your ride. MiniBeth

GreenHornet: MCS, BRG, Leather Lounge Redwood, Piano Blk Interior, Convenience Pkg, Cold Weather Pkg, Premium Pkg, Sport Pkg, Limited Slip, Xenon Headlights

Hello n2hcky and minibeth!

This is my first post to NAM

I ordered my Mini - MCS on April 25th (first one for me, too - I'm replacing my Accord...now that the youngest is in a booster and can buckle herself) - and discovered via Ask Mini that it began production yesterday at 4:11 am! The website still says "on order". I've been given a May 15th date for completion.

Thanks for starting a week 20 support group thread. Let's definitely keep each other posted! Our babies might be on the same boat...

Glad to have yall.

I thought very seriously about a PW/B Clubman when I was picking mine out.................................Of course there was almost NO color that I didn't consider. But PW, SpSil, BRG, HC, NfR, were on the top of the list.
I found out I got bumped up a day for completion.......now it's should be the 12th.

THEN the long way for the trip across the pond.

Called Ask Mini today and my completion day has also been bumped up - to the 13th! Also have a VIN number on the website which makes it feel more "real" to me than even the production number.

minibeth - keep calling Ask Mini...I've been checking in...almost daily...and every time I call I get a bit more information out of them. If you are scheduled for production they should be able to give you an estimated completion date. It's not much...but it's something to hold onto while waiting...

I was considering a clubman almost exactly the configuration of yours - n2hcky - in fact I think it is still saved on the mini website's configurator...I called it "Chocoholic". My MCS interior is similar to yours - with the english oak/cream line combo...but my seats are black leather with cream piping...

I know the kids will have to squeeze a bit more in the back of Cooper vs. Clubman...but as my father in law says "The kids will survive...but mom will THRIVE"! And he should know 'cause he and his wife just picked up their first Cooper about a month ago...

Congrats weinerdog and catguy (interesting opposing themes, there)! We've added a couple more candidates for sharing the long boat ride across the pond.

catguy - I *do* think you got lucky and hit the production times just right for your dealer...lucky you! And...I have heard that it takes about 4 weeks once it leaves the plant...but I'm surprised if you are on the west coast that it will be delivered to the receiving center on the east coast...it was my understanding that cars headed west pass through the Panama Canal and are received somewhere in California. I bet a quick search of NAM would make it all crystal clear.

I'm calling Ask Mini tomorrow (hopefully to speak to a person) and see if mine is officially out of body shop and into the paint department...should be...Wheeeeeee.....

good morning, Week 20 Crew! I'm happy to report that my VIN also appeared last night, AND when I called 'ask-mini' I got a production completion date of 5/16. Very excited...

Got to get GoGreen here so I can pay attention to her instead of purchasing accessories!

Gah! I placed my order on 5-2, my MA said that I would get my production number this week, and that it should be ready for pick-up the last week in June/first week in July (part of the reason I ordered when I did).

I forgot to include DSC. So i emailed during the weekend. Didn't hear anything Monday morning, so i called my MA and she said she had received my email, and that it was ok to order. She again stated that she would be calling this past week with my production number.

So Friday comes and I called, she didn't answer so I left a message. No call back. I call again saturday, she still is never at her desk, so I talk to someone else and they tell me that they will tell her to call. Still nothing.

This is just getting really frustrating!

Minikart4me - that is really frustrating! my guess is that they don't have an allocation available yet, and that's why they can't give you the production number. I'm new to all of this, but reading the postings I've come to understand that each dealer has a certain number of 'slots' or allocations in each production run, and if you purchase from them when they still have allocations available, they use one of the allocations for your build.

I would recommend you call someone higher up at the dealership, ask them when their next allocation is available, and what production run it will be for (which week). I'm hoping that your MA was honest with you, and that they have an allocation for you later this month (which would put you around week 23?) and that is why they gave you a delivery date in early July.

Good luck!

Oh, Minikart4me...I feel your pain. It took a week before I was able to get a production number. This whole process takes greater than the national average amount of patience. Being a Kindergarten teacher I have it in spades...but I'm still hyper obsessed with my baby to be and don't think I'll be sane until she's in my driveway. Teachers typically loose control of their faculties during the last month of school...maybe no one will notice that it's over "just a car".

Congrats Minibeth on the completion date - such a wonderful, magical number!

Happy Mother's Day to all that apply.

Luckily I got my production number the next day.
I don't know how I could have stood it if it took a week. Especially since the MA ordered wrong the 1st time and had to reorder the next day.

I received a production number from my MA on the day I ordered (6th of May) and he pointed out (on the order invoice) that production was scheduled for week 20. I am, however, as of today, still getting the "Your vehicle is scheduled for production, With no confirmed production date" from 866ASKMINI. I have yet to speak to a real human on that line, but I am still patiently (who's to kid) anxiously! waiting.

Defcon888,
When you call Ask Mini you can say "customer relations" at any time and you *should* get a real person. All they need is your production number and they should be able to give you more detailed information. Wait until Monday - I tried this weekend and it appears there are no real people on the weekend. I've called as early as 6:30 (west coast) weekdays and got someone. Good luck!

I believe Week 20 starts on 12 May 2008

I just called 866-ASK-MINI as the owner's lounge said my new MCS was in production. The attendant also said it was started this morning at 0700. I asked him what production week this was and he said Week 20. If you count Mondays from 01 Jan2008 this in fact is week 20.

It's not really important. I'm blown away by the fact that I ordered the Mini Friday, May 09 and it is already on the assembly line.

.....regards

My MINI is at the port too!

Hey everybody,
I'm told I was production week 19, that my MINI was completed on 5/7, arrived at the port on 5/9 and is awaiting transport. The guy at ASK-MINI had no more info on when I would know which ship we would be assigned.

Guess I'll keep calling and bugging them!!

More time to consider name possibilities, right?

So I finally got ahold of the Sales Manager and he gave me my production number. I logged on to the Owner's Lounge and my car is in production (yay!)...Do I need to call AskMini if I want to know the actual Production week is?

Thanks!

Minikart4me,
Congrats on the number!

What you should ask them for is the completion date. My car went into production on the 7th (according to Ask Mini - live person) but that didn't mean they were actually *building* it. That didn't start until yesterday (the 11th). I just called and she is in the paint shop today and they are still sticking with tomorrow as the completion date.

Definitely call Ask Mini. They can give you a very accurate idea of where you are at in the process.
