No they don't stick out-- here are some shots.

I did notice that the rocks from the driveway the other day did get "thrown" or "stuck" and fell off, and you can hear them...I went slow, no damage, luckily I don't normally park in the rocks, he has his own garage on the side of the house, and there are no rocks there....

you have front mudflaps spidrz?

I didn't have them for the longest time, but finally put them on because of the offset of my new wheels... so much more tire sticks out beyond the fender... I've gotten a ton of dirt and road tar thrown up onto my door, so I got the front mudflaps...

i have the rears sitting at home, still haven't decided if I want to put those on yet.

Just do it! CLICK HERE for an instruction set I wrote some time ago. If I can help with the install, just let me know!

it's the looks that i'm concerned about... they definitely have a much stronger presence then the front ones... Just not sure if I like the look yet.

I was on the fence too, but after it was done, I REALLY liked them! They give the car a lower and wider stance overall.

Take some double sided tape or something and put em on temp like to see visually if you like it.

Awesome, thanks so much for the shots. Now if prices for lead and copper would go down, I'd have more cash for rims.

LOLz, exact same situation here. My rears are sitting in the garage. I drive thru a flooded dip at the base of the hill that my office is at and it's helped greatly w/ the streaks of mud I got daily.

I've really just been too lazy to jack the car up and take the wheels off only to remove the flaps if i didn't like them. But this is a GREAT idea, and I don't know why I never thought of doing it.

thanks again Adam

Just got back from the dealer. I have a Pepper White MCSa as a loaner.... the automatic is so much more sluggish than my manual.

I made sure to tell the Service Advisor to make sure not to wash my car.... last time they did they swirled the crap out of it. We'll see what happens.

yea, i hate the auto trannies. i mean, i guess they're nice if you're just looking to get around. I played a bit with the paddle shifters, but imo, it takes a lot more thinking then just driving a manual. I guess it's just something you have to get used to.

should be getting my car back today. the shop foreman told them to replace the high pressure fuel pump. hopefully that solves my issues, i doubt it'll solve the cold rattling at 1.5k rpm issue though.

Well, they finished with my car earlier than I expected....

They fixed the sunroof, they reset my doors, said it was "too early" to do the first service oil change, and checked over the engine. They said it sounds just fine, no funky noises, not miss firing, perfect.

While I was at the dealer I asked about driving lamps..... whoa $879. No thanks.

did they fix your timing chain tensioner for the cold-start rattle?

what's the fix on the sunroof? mine sticks, I've just been pushing on the sunroof and that allows it to move, it'd be nice not to have to worry about it.

The SA said that the mechanic adjusted and lubricated the sunroof mechanics. The mechanic listened to the engine, but since it was warm there was no cold start rattle. He said it was fine, nothing to worry about so they just gave it back. The way I see it, I have it on record that I came to get it fixed. If anything ever comes of it, they will be legally obligated to do whatever needs to be done.

weird, my dealership just fixed the parts w/o questioning it. They didn't need to hear the rattle on their own, they just fixed it.

My biggest complaint with it was how clunky the gear changes were. It really threw it into gear both when it changed automatically, or when it was in manual mode.

For me it was the pump whine.

Old guy says, put it in your IRA. Albert Einstein said that compound interest is the strongest force in the universe.

not this young guy.

save some, spend some

you've gotta enjoy the here and now, as well as prepare for later. Saving everything doesn't help you enjoy the here and now. Not to sound morbid, but you don't want to save save save for later in life, when it's not guaranteed you'll make it there.

save and spend, and live a happy life.

I've limited myself to 500/month for my car, for 5 months. that allows me to put around 1000 into the bank every month for savings. the only time I'm doing upgrades is the summer, when I can actually enjoy them. That extra 500 goes to savings and/or paying off my car faster in the winter months.

See, the difference here is twofold :

1) the cost of living here doesn't really permit for much saving
2) I DO enjoy the here and now, probably too much so big lumps like this are really the only times I can afford to save! hence my reasoning!

mid-life crisis guy says IRA as well, though, this one put half into his IRA and half into the paying the loan.

i'm more or less done for now. No more, until I get a clear direction on what I want to do and what will work well together.
