About to go from S4 Avant to MINI S

Wondered if anyone has done the same. Psyched to change but a bit concerned over the size and safety of the mini. How is it for highway driving and interior noise levels? Probably going with BRG white top and pretty loaded. Thanks for any advice.

it's a pretty da*n safe car, but there is basically no cargo room. highway cruising is surprising stable for a tiny car

I'd trust my life to it. The Mini's small but extremely tough. And outstanding on the highway (I hear the Clubman's a bit better...but won't be able to confirm until I get mine in May/June).

The Mini is also a lot bigger inside than you'd think. And it does have cargo room, plenty of it, you just have to drop the rear seats...

Thanks to both of you. It seems that a bike with the front wheel off would fit in the back with the rears seats folded down. I plan on using the car with the back seats down all time. Can you get a cargo cover like in a wagon?

Depends on what you mean by cargo cover - on the floor to protect against dogs, cargo, etc, or one of those roll-out type things to hide the contents from prying eyes?

I've got the first in my MCS and love it. Attaches via velcro and anchors to the front headrest posts. It covers everything from the front seatbacks to the rear bumper.

Enough room for two and cargo. Not much more. Very stable on the highway too.

Went to order today but will have to go back after selling my car. Trade in price was incredible low ball offer. Thinking of getting sport pkg etc. Is limited slip differential worth it? Thanks again. Is the cargo cover (Doogs) that you mention from headrest with velcro aftermarket?

LSD is a must-have, esp with front wheel drive. Sport pkg is well worth the price as well, and includes DSC.

S4 Avant is a sweet car, but expensive to buy and own, eh ?

13 mpg in town, I barely get 200 miles to a tank. Great car though. Mine just went of warranty so I decided to sell prior to a big repair bill. The MCS is really a blast to drive. I'm looking forward to ordering it next week.
