Bringing over a few things from the week 12 thread.

Track the Western Highway using shipais:
http://www.shipais.com/showship.php?mmsi=372548000

Or use vessal tracker:
http://www.vesseltracker.com/en/Ship...y-9325776.html

Here's a Bimmer group that's also along for the ride:

Picture of the Western Highway:

Here's an up to date schedule:

Thanks for pulling all this information together. Anyone have any updated info.? I know nothing new, but seem to be a lot more relaxed now that we're "en route" and should arrive at port by the end of this week. That means we could all have our MINI's by the middle-to-end of next week - Amazing! Good Luck everyone; the wait is almost over!!!

You're welcome.

Nope.. no new news. But I agree.. it's a relief to know we caught a ride. Another 3 days before she lands. Then our MINI's will be sent to the VDC and I understand that's about 2 -3 days, give or take. I also read that if the car was a priority, meaning a car someone purchased and not just a dealer car, they would work on Saturday to get it done. Then about 2 - 3 days transport time to wherever you live and then the dealer will add whatever accessories that are scheduled for it. That will probably take a day. So, if they finish the car by the 5th at the VDC, and get it out on the truck that night, could be ready for you as early as the 9th. But if the VDC don't get it done until the 7th, pickup date could be as late as the 12th.

I'd be happy with any of those dates.

Yes, our MA suggested the earliest possibility would be Wed., the 9th, with the 10th or 11th as back-ups. While, obviously, the sooner the better, we'll be thrilled with any of those days!

Well, it shouldn't take very long for Max to find his way home compared to Stella and Bruiser since you live in Florida. Good luck and get your camera all ready for pictures of when your baby comes home.

The Port Charleston Vessel Report has updated the arrival of the Western Highway to the 5th of April. The K-Line still shows the 3rd but it hasn't been updated since 25 March. Looks like we got pushed back a few days.

Oh well, gives are cars a few more days at sea to enjoy a bit of rest before we drive them 'til their run flats wear thin.

Hmmm...mildly disappointing. Hope that doesn't set us back too much. Assuming "Max" should roll in first due to proximity, we'll be there with open arms and, of course, our camera. A tint job will soon follow...

I'm considering a graphic on my sunroof... but can't decide what. I thought of using the new USAF logo. What do you think?

I think that would look great, especially with the black roof. How much do they want for it installed? We're considering the "Black Jack" (shades of silver, gray & charcoal) sun roof graphic on ours to help block out the sun. Kind of pricey, though (≈ $399). Still not quite sure about the durability/longevity of it, however, with it being on the outiside exposed to the elements.

BTW, Gems Coop, you may beat us in after all! That's OK, we'll all be home soon!

Here's a link for use when our ship approaches the US. You can sign up for free.

I figured out how to move around a little. To move click on any enclosed red boxed area and that will be zoomed in.

Hey, that's great! Have you found Western Highway on the AIS free site, yet? I tried, but couldn't get Charleston to come up ...

Won't be long now!

This is about as close as we can get with the free site:

http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.aspx?Map=Carolina
Well, you can get closer, but you don't see as many ships.

I'm getting so anxious, I just can't wait!

I am semi-confident that this realtime web cam will show the Western Highway go by sometime today. http://www.charlestonscrealestate.us/ Use the USS Yorktown camera preset. I determined the location of the Union Pier Terminal via Google Maps. The USS Yorktown preset camera position available at this site may make the Western Highway plainly visible as it passes by today. All ships that have passed by the camera so far have had the name of the ship clearly visible. We are going to a British car show in a few minutes and will not be able to keep watch, but perhaps someone else on this ship will keep an eye out. Today's the day!!!

Oh, nicely done. I'm monitoring now... but merely see birds flying in front of the camera every now and then. I'll be off line for the new few hours but will check again after that.

We're monitoring it too! Should come within view on the real time site soon. Do you have control of the camera right now?

Stay tuned, shipmates...

Boostednorm, if you are controlling the camera, are you going to capture oneshots of our ship? Someone is obviously monitoring the harbor and I hope it is you.

In a matter of minutes Western Highway will be in the "USS Yorktown view" on the real-time web cam site. We will try to capture images. She's within site now, almost at the Charleston Union Pier !!!
