Trying to make a decision

Hello all,

I am a new member and will be ordering an 08 MCS soon.
I was originally going for all the packages, but my husband
doesn't think I need the sport package. I'm sure the DSC would
be worth it. Is there an advantage to having 17" rims over 16", other
than a preference in the looks of the wheels? Does the sport suspension
add a noticeable difference?
I was also going to get bonnet stripes, but after perusing the forums here I
think I would like a different kind of stripes.
I'm trying to keep the price at a certain level to keep the hubby happy.
There are so many choices...............

Re: Sport Suspension. If you're going to be driving the twisties at mach 2 and otherwise driving your MINI hard, then yes, go for it. Improved handling will be worth the stiffer ride.

If you're just using the car for commutes and general driving, and prefer a softer ride, forego the sport suspension. Your teeth will rattle a bit less.

I ordered my 08 MCS with 17" rims simply for the looks. Tbh, the 16" rims would probably provide a slighty better ride since the tires are higher profile. I had the same question about the sport suspension so I drove one with it and one without it. I could not tell a noticeable difference in the short amount of time I drove them both. But my MA did tell me that he felt there is only a slight difference for an everyday driver. He said if you are planning on taking your Mini to the track then the sport suspension is a must. I was torn on the bonnet stripes at first too, but after seeing them in person, I was sold! Good luck with your purchase, I should be picking mine up this week from the dealer, can't wait!

Thanks for the input. I will probably pass on the sport susp and 17" tires for a softer ride. It should still be zippy enough without them. I am leaning toward MCS Laser Blue/Black premium,comfort/cw packages, auto, nav.....
Now for the interior........

Check out your after market options for stripes-- most likely will cost less and be totally your own.
