Newbie Alert

Hi fellow MINI lovers,

I ordered my MINI back on the 11th of March. One whole week ago. Feels like forever ago. I placed in my signature what I ordered... let me know if I did that right.

This wait is really killing me... I've gone to about every review of the car, every tuner site I could find, downloaded images and podcasts, looked for clothing, toys and performance mods. Wish they made a toy car with all 10,000,000 combinations so I can build my own with the color options I got on my real car.

I've created a few wallpapers with my car options in place... they're in my gallery.

I'm so anxious about this car it isn't even funny. I haven't had a new car since my 92' Eagle Talon TSi AWD. After the warranty was up, I modded that for the quarter mile and got my best of 12.64 sec/108 mph. After 12 years and way too much money for blown engines and tyranny's, I thought I'd get a more civilized car that knows how to turn corners. I opted for the automatic since I was so impressed with it and I've always wanted to not lift to shift. I read somewhere some were actually getting .2 quicker 1/4 mile times with the automatic! I think that must be wrong though perhaps the manual tester wasn't a good driver. Either way though it must be darn close. Anyways, its the cornering this car does that really sold me.

Hope to see you all in some up coming event.

Welcome, your ordered a nice MINI.

Watch out for the mod bug, it appears your already have a mod history, so you will fall into the MINI mod bug quite easily.

Enjoy the wait and have fun tracking your MINI.

Oh, thanks for reminding me about being able to track our MINI's. Apparently mine is in the paint shop and is scheduled to be done on the 19th. Have to go see what is after painting.

Thanks for the welcome and I hope I don't get too much of that mod bug. At least not for awhile.

Well, I'm not sure of this but evaluating the video of manufacturing the 19th will be the end of step 5 of 10 steps. Seems pretty good considering it's only been a week from the time I ordered it.
  1. Underframe welding/assembly
  2. Assembling the body
  3. Preparation for painting
  4. Paintwork
  5. Contrast roof
  6. Interior installations
  7. Finishing the underbody
  8. Joining engine and body
  9. Final assembly/quality confirmation
  10. More tests, tranportation
I'll wait until later to find out when my production date is. I'm still a bit fuzzy concerning that. Is that when it finishes step 10 or when it started step 1?

-Norm
