Honda guy converting Mini.

As the title says I have been a honda guy for 7yrs and now looking to get a mini after I save some more money. I think the mini is the perfect little car for my needs. Good power and awesome handling. I plan to get a 2002-2004 Mini Cooper S. Hopefully black or the grey with the black roof. Well thought I would make my Noob post Good day mates.

Funny you say that. I've been an owner of a Honda Accord for 10 years (what a reliable car!), now I am in the process of owning a Clubman early this summer. Though I've put in the order, but that provides enought time to save too. Mini converts everywhere.

The grey and black roof is an awesome combo color. I had a coworker who owns a MIni with that color and it really looks badass. I'd also recommend adding the black bonnets stripes.

I still have two Honda's and love them. However the MINI is the most fun.

Welcome aboard! I've had a few Honda's too - apples and oranges. You'll love the MINI... Not that Honda's are great too - but......well....you'll find out...

Welcome!

I too had always been a "Honda\Acura" guy and to this day still admire them and have many fond memories of ownership. BUT, nothing drives like or gives more enjoyment EVERY single day than my 06 MCS!!

You will be happy, best wishes to you!

Welcome!
I've owned 3 integras, two of which were GS-R's (one I turbo'd), a Del Sol, and a Civic hatchback.
I ordered my new mini as of March 2nd.
My husband is still a Honda fan, currently driving an S2k.

Cool cool I will miss the honda world but Mini's will feel my needs better.

Does anyone think it will be hard to find a decent 2001-2004 S with about 50K on it for 15k?

Did an '04 S with 22.5k for 17k... 6 mos ago.

Came from a RSX-s, and boy, do I miss the slick 6-spd in that car. Of course, I don't have to worry about that nasty bump turn with the rear!

I have to admit, the mini has such a confidence inspiring feel that I never got with the Acura.

Downsized

We are just finishing the soccer/baseball mom era, and our 2003 Odyssey van was awesome for that (leather, DVD etc), but found it now being used to haul 1 or 2 people around. So two weeks ago we added "Amy", a 2005 MC 5 spd BEP and having a blast. Our trusty Honda still sits in the driveway and gets used for family outings occasionally, but any excuse to go out somewhere, there goes the Mini.

The mini has a great shifter; although, I could guide the RSX-s with a tap or a single finger pull. I'd give the mini a 4.5 on a 5 star scale - I'd give the RSX-s a 6!

Overall, the mini pulls way more smiles. My old Acura did great, with great efficiency with great practicality. The mini, much more personable and inspiring to drive. I'm a handling guy and just luv it all day long.

Mini's, while still being FWD, have way less TQ steer effect as well!
