Gemscoop,

No Stella, yet? Have you called the dealer? I called my MA Friday and found out my MINI is STILL sitting at the port. They are now trying to get things moving along. I will keep calling ... nudge, nudge.

Went to the movies to take my mind off the fact the Stella is not here yet! When we returned home, low and behold, there was an email from my MA stating that she had been delivered to the dealership at 6:00 pm this evening. Technicians will prep her tomorrow morning and I should be picking her up by dinner time. (Still figuring out how I can scoot out of work early.) The dealership is about 1:20 away, and the weather is supposed to be georgeous tomorrow. I think I may have to call off sick! I still can't believe it! Stella is coming home tomorrow!!! Yippee!!!

Wonderful! Hope you took the day off as a "wellness" day. Ahhh, the healing powers of MINIs! You're proabably there now ... Hello, Stella!

Those are some great shots! Catalog-worthy! Love the closeup of the headlight and the one against the building with reflective windows ... You DO have an artistic eye.

Bruiser looks very clean ... and beautiful! Did you clay bar him? I got all my detailing stuff in the mail today, and plan to give the clay bar a try. Hope it's not too hard. Any tips would be helpful.

Bruiser says thanks. ^_^

No, I haven't tried clay bar yet... read about it though. Use "slick" or some other kind of lubrication when using it.

For those pictures all I did was wash the car then used hydro and dried it. I used wow on the plastic interior. I didn't use any wow on the exterior. Saving it for after I wax, so I can remove any white haze from the plastic/rubber parts.

Hydro works so easy and fast. It actually seems to help dry too.

Hoping to wax this weekend. Do I wax the clear bra?

Stella is home! She's all that I expected and more! DH and I stayed up quite late bonding with her in the garage. He was quite impressed with the iPod adapter and the quality of sound from the speakers. She handles like a dream. After driving her for the first time, DH suggested that we use her as the daily driver. He has an '08 Cadillac, and he's always been all about comfort. The MINI is all about FUN! I said we can only use Stella if we take turns driving...

Not sure if you can see, but the piping on the lounge leather really compliments the racing stripes.
I LOVE THIS CAR!

Oh, that is a sweet color combination. Nicely selected. I've never seen the english oak... must be a really nice contrast to the pb/b and lounge leather interior.

So glad Stella is home safe. And it appears you seem happy too!

The interior really has a classy look which is exactly what I was going for.

Got my Prima stuff, including Hydro, yest. ... Read about claying and have my lubricant for it. Sounds like something ya just gotta get the hang of.

From what I read in the detailing section, seems most people ARE waxing their clear bras, just being careful around the edges. I didn't order the clear bra; something I may come to regret ...

Neither Otter nor I have gotten ours yet. Me? I'm hoping for this Friday, PRAYING for Friday. That will make 9+ weeks from order date! My patience is getting thin now.

still waiting here too Ship is supposed to come in late tomorrow though so hopefully it won't be much longer. Waiting on the west coast ships sucks!

I can understand the west coast... (did you get pictures while it was in the Panama Canal? I was stationed there for 2 years while in the Air Force, which is where I meant my girlfriend... ) but South Carolina is where the ship landed! If you didn't get the nav option, maybe you should have. Maybe it got lost??

OK, all! Just got word. My baby has arrived. I'm going to get her Friday! Hang in there, Matt and Otter!

Norm, just noticed the signature enhancement. Drop shadow and gradient look cool. Can you add the drop shadow to the graphics on either side?

Congratulations! They should give you some extras since your car sat at the VDC so long.

Norm, I did get to watch it go through the canal and get quite a few screen caps; without a doubt the most exciting part of waiting (if waiting is ever exciting). I'll tell you one thing, I could not be a canal pilot down there. It is nuts how little room they have to maneuver, especially considering they are putting a 25,000+ ton multi-million dollar ship where most U.S. drivers would have difficulty parking an SUV. I hope they get paid well...

Norm, you are too kind! I was talking about YOUR sig! The drop shadow for your two graphics would go great with the drop-shadowed text in the middle!

Thank you for dressing up my sig ... I'll work on a new one once I get her home. Maybe a new pic to use, etc. I am a little rusty with PhotoShop.

Matt, I checked out the Canal cam when a friend's OB/W MINI went thru a couple of weeks ago. I agree! Threading the needle ...
