Hi fellow anxious MINI owners to be!

I think I'm week 12. I called ASK MINI last night and the automated voice said I was in Painting. Today I call and it says I'm in Assembly. So, I opted to speak to a customer representative. He told me the car will be done today.

So, I ordered it on the evening of the 11th of March and it's already finished? 8 days. Impressive.

I asked what week I was in and he didn't know what I was referring to. I tried to explain but we weren't sure if it was the start or completion of production. If it's the completion, I'm week 12. If it's the start, it's week 11.

I'll go with week 12 until one of you tell me different.

Anyways... Howdy!
waves to the endless crowd of week 12'ers

And howdy to you, too!

A very impressive schedule, indeed, boostednorm! Who knows which week wer'e in. I'm either 12 or 13, now, based on different answers I've gotten. The production week I received initially came from ASK MINI ...

Guess we'll all hang out here until our new babies get their shipping assignments. Those may change, too, from what I've been reading in some other threads.

Maybe all the confusion helps the time pass more quickly, eh?

Well, Stella has been released to a shipper. As of now, ASK MINI can't answer any further questions. They say that from here on out the dealer is the one to ask. I really don't want to be a pest.

The automated system was so helpful when I needed a MINI location fix. I loved hearing "Greetings, fellow moto-er!"

What will I do for the next (?) weeks?

MINI Alert!!!

The Center for Disease Control has issued a medical alert about a highly contagious, potentially dangerous virus that is transmitted orally, by hand, and even electronically.

This virus is called Moodily Irritable Neurotically Impatient (MINI).

If you've ordered a MINI recently believing it was something fun and exciting - DO NOT BE MISLED.

This virus will wipe out your work and private lives completely.

If you are ever asked to order MINI you should be aware of it's addicting properties.

Take two good friends to the nearest store and purchase one or both of the temporary antidotes - Willingly Inducing a Narcolepsy Episode (WINE) and Basically Eliminating Elements of Remembrance (BEER).

Take the antidote repeatedly until all thoughts of MINI have been completely eliminated from your system. Be warned this is merely a temporary fix.
The anticipated incubation period is approximately 6 to 8 weeks. This time fluctuates incredibly and it will seem like forever but sooner or later you will receive full blown MINI from which there is no return to a normal life.

You should immediately forward this medical alert to five (real life) friends!

If you do not have five real life friends but find yourself surfing the internet day in and day out you have already been infected and MINI is controlling your life.

Totally pathetic, isn't it? And NO ONE ELSE has a clue why we're behaving like children before Christmas ... My husband thinks I've lost my mind. He may be right ...

I've been hunting through the shipping sites, living vicariously through week-9, 10 and 11 bloggers ...

I wasn't this excited when I bought my first house.

Let's do the chant: MINI, MINI, MINI ... (sigh) ... My Christmas list will probably look a lot different this year.

Have you checked out the tracking-your-MINI-thread in 1st gear? There, we will be able to find out what ship our babies are on for the pond crossing. If you're in OH, yours just might come through Charleston as I've seen in some other threads. I think you key in your VIN and see which ship. If it's coming through Charleston, let me know ... I have the link to the shipping scheulde.

ASK-MINI just told me my MINI is at the port awaiting a vessel.

Putting in my VIN for cargo ID at the W&W site yielding nothing so far.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Where did you find this information? When I go to the ship tracking site, it doesn't recognize my VIN.

Well, THIS time when I called ASK MINI, they told me my car was painted yesterday and should be completed today or tomorrow. I swear I don't know whether to believe it at this point.

I should start looking at freight ships, but afraid I'll jinx it.

I've read on other threads that our babies could go WW or K-line. I also have read that, if your baby goes on a K-line ship, those ships typically do not report through the www.sailwx.info site. Here are the links links I have gathered so far. I'll send more if I come across any.

It took a couple of days for my VIN to show up - I was getting antsy!

This morning was the first time it appeared.

I am hoping to have the first one in my city! In a town full of SUV's, Hummers & lifted trucks, I can't wait to see the faces on some of the local rednecks here.
Any word, yet, on your ship? Gives another meaning to the phrase, "Someday my ship will come in." Last word is that my baby should be rolling around the docs looking for yours in the next day or two ...

It seems that I am a new Week 12. I was originally told it would be a Week 13 build, but my MINI was completed yesterday and is now looking for a boat. My MA tells me that it's possible that it will be delivered in mid-April.
I should be so lucky.

Have a great weekend.

My baby finished production yesterday and was on her way to the docks today, per ASK MINI... No info as to ship, yet.

The latest to arrive at the Southampton port is WESTERN HIGHWAY (Kline). It docked about 3 EDT. With any luck ...

NFR, I didn't see ELEKTRA. Has it left port?

Congratulations Carolina Cooper! My Stella is on the docks waiting on a ship. Our MINIs may be shipmates!
BTW...I've been putting my VIN into the WW site for 3 days now, and nothing is showing up yet. It was two weeks ago today that I placed my order. My DH says it feels like 2 months with how obsessive I've become! He has the patience of a saint listening to me go on and on. Stella is ALL I talk about!

GemsCoop, I hope we are shipmates. The sooner our babies learn to swim, the better.

After an entire month from order to build completion, I PRAY I don't have to wait another month to get her. But, I guess I'll be pushing 8 weeks as it is ... The wait will be well worth it, though, so I'd better quit whining.

You may very well be coming through Charleston. I've been checking from those links I posted earlier to determine which ships, in which order, will arrive to Southampton and I already have their scheduled arrival dates for Chs. Keep your eyes on these ships:
  • Western Highway (Kline). It's at Southampton now, and should be leaving today or tom. To arr. in Chs. 4/3.
  • Independence (WW). It should arrive in Southampton in the next few days. To arr. in Chs. 4/6.
  • Emden (Kline). Not sure of arr. at Southampton, but arr in Chs. is 4/10.
There are others, too, but I'm going to stay positive and hope we make one of these earlier ones.

Mine's on the Elektra also, from the ship info, it's due in Baltimore (the closest to NVa) on 2 April - not long now. I'm impressed the whole process has been this quick, I only ordered it on 7 March!

Wonderful! I just looked and see Elektra's moored at Southampton ... When does she leave?

Booked on the INDEPENDENCE

Checked WW a few minutes ago and see now that I am booked on the Independence. Actually, the WW site states, "Independence II," but I see only one "Independence" anywhere close to England, and it's in the North Atlantic, headed towards the channel ...

VinnieKC, you might want to check, again, and see if you have a WW booking ... Unless you are booked on K-line.

I see Elektra is off and into the channel.

Western Highway looks like it turned around and is headed back to Southampton?

Boostednorm,

You might want to check with your MA. Could be your baby's scheduled for a K-line ship, in which case you may not be able to get the info online ... Do you know in what port your baby would arrive?

No, I don't. I live in Minnesota... I assume it would come to Charleston. I'll probably have to wait until Monday to call my MA.

Maybe not through Charleston, but my guess is through the . Here's her schedule, and she makes several stops along the way after leaving Southampton:
NEW YORK, NYU.S.A.02/04/200802/04/2008BALTIMORE, MDU.S.A.03/04/200804/04/2008CHARLESTON,SCU.S.A.06/04/200807/04/2008BRUNSWICK, GAU.S.A.08/04/200808/04/2008

Your baby could very well disembark at NY or Baltimore.

Also, I'm checking week-11 support group's thread. Several of them are waiting, too, and might have some info for us.

I know for sure that both K-line and WW serve the east coast, as the Charleston port schedule shows both lines coming in there (can't speak to NY or Baltimore, though). So, if you don't show up on WW by tomorrow, call your MA. Hang in there! We still have a few more weeks to go.
