First Post - From a MINI-wannabe

Greetings all!

After reading thread after thread here, I decided to register. I'm not a MINI owner yet, but I hope to be soon.

Kind of a funny story about that, actually. We currently own a 2005 Chrysler T&C. Good vehicle, great for the kids. My wife has a company car that she cannot use for personal use (Ford Focus). She also had a 1997 Intrepid. That car was getting to be unsafe. So, she takes it to a dealer that was having a massive sale, and calls me a few hours later. "Honey, can I get a new car?" Her logic was that she got a heck of a deal on a 2004 Saturn VUE, and got rid of the Intrepid. She then says, "Well, if I get the VUE, then you can sell the Chrysler & get your MINI..."

So, how's that for a great wife!!! I think we're planning a trip to a dealership to look them over & test drive a couple this summer. Can't do anything right now, as I've just had surgery on my right knee (after falling on ice).

Can't wait to own one!!!

Thanks,
Josh

Hey, I just had surgery on my right knee on Tuesday. That's not stopping me from buying a new MINI. They took out half my lateral meniscus.

I had about the same procedure done. Plus a nice chunk of bone. Doc said it looked like someone hit it with a hammer. *I guess I should have paid that loan shark off on time* (j/k)

Hey Tim, are you going through physical therapy now?

Gotta sell that Chrysler first, though..

Like you, I also have a great wife!! We just moved back to the States from England last year, and as a first car since coming back, I bought a new Pontiac Vibe, which we love. But that meant we didn't have lots of money left, so I went out looking for an basic older pick-up. The more I looked, the more my wife and I realized how little you get for your money. Anyway, I had to keep bumping up my target price, and eventually my wife said I should just forget the truck and go out and buy a used MINI. Once I heard that, I never looked back! And now I'm having a ball every single time I drive my '03 Chili Red MC!
