How was your Delivery Experience??

I hadn't seen a thread on this subject so I thought I'd start one.

I've already warned my MA that it might be a long appointment to pick up Molly, and my Husband said he'd warn him to expect 3 Hours.
I'm wondering how your experience was when you picked up your MINI??
I think this will be helpful information for myself and other on the anticipation of Delivery. Thanks in advance for your insights.

I had a great time picking up my Mini. I was there about 4 hours. Went over everything on the car. I missed a paint issue I had but that has be resolved. It was my first new car buying experience. It was very enjoyable. The 86 mile ride home was more fun than I had imagined after the 109 day wait to get the car.

It was a problem with the paint on the front bumper around the fog lights. And actually I had noticed thin edges on the paint near the grill as well. Mini paid the bill to have it repainted. I posted about it here.

Mine was dropped off in my driveway from a closed carrier. Took about 5 minutes to check it over and sign the paperwork.

My MA (Clint Mooney @ Irvine MINI in So Cal) spent a lot of time going over everything. Plastic had been removed from engine. . . etc.

There had been a problem with chrome from the order to factory. That was taken care of quickly, I've been very happy not only with the delivery but with the very minor issues that the service dept. has fixed with no issues at all!

I know there were some VERY thorough posts about pre-delivery checksheets that helped me, because I was SO excited I needed something to ground me and help me stay practical!

I would highly recommend Drew at Mini North Scottsdale. He took care of me for the entire 2-year wait. Never got impatient with my questions or concerns. Plus on the pickup day he had all the extras I had mentioned (car cover, mud flaps, interior bed liner) sitting there at the desk waiting to be put into the car before I left. I never had to venture to the parts department. He made it so easy.

As I couldn't make the Clubman intro day he saved the brochures for me and threw in a license plate bracket for the Clubman after my long wait. Scottsdale doesn't do a lot of extra freebies, but they have been a great dealership to deal with--our 4th car from them.

Great demonstration of how everything worked without rushing. Drew is the best. I hope to get a Cabrio from him next year. MINI mania has struck and dealing with him was pure pleasure. He still answers questions when I email him and has told me to write any time with concerns or my stories. Wish he was part of our family.

I ordered my MINI also at Irvine MINI. I would like to ask you little more, what do you mean "plastic had been removed from engine"?

I will pick my MINI next week. So I am going to prepare kind of list.

Apparently there is a plastic MINI logo on the engine or turbo section that will burn onto the parts when you drive if it isn't removed. It's just a sticker!

Here's an earlier thread. . . #2 has LOTS of info!

What did you order????
