Took the day off work and drove 2 hours to pick up a Metallic Blue 2005 MCS yesterday. And, I must say that this might already be the best car I have ever owned and I had 3 Miatas (one turbo). I traded in an 06 Lexus IS250 and found that almost every feature I had on the Lexus was on the mini and more! It's the perfect combination of build quality and performance.
Anyway, I am going to get back to the car now. I am still trying to find places to hide my ipod, phone, sunglasses, soda, etc.
Congrats! I picked up my Chili Red Clubman yesterday so I know the feeling. It's overwhelming to be so in love with a car.
I feel very lucky that we have NAM to share everything with. This is the best place to be with others like us. Great site for any info you need along the way.
I owned a first year Miata and also think the MINI is better.
By the way, replaced the Miata with a Z3 and still have it.
I owned a modded '90, a stock '97 and a Flying Miata Turbo'd '90.
The MINI is better in many, many ways, but I miss the rear wheel drive. It rained here in FL last night and I went for a drive and just spun the front wheels a lot, maybe a little sliding. I liked being able to steer with the back tires. Oh well, can't have everything. Although, I think this may quickly become my fav ride.
I'm not sure if a turbo Miata and a MCS could be compared. They are so different in so many ways! Granted the build quality and the comfort of a new Mini is better, but the lightness and RWD of the Miata with an equal amount of power is just so much fun. I love both cars but I don't think my miata could ever be replaced.
