Proud New Owner

Hello all! I'm a proud new owner of a 2007 Mini Cooper S. He's chili red with white top, mirrors and white bonnet stripes. If you can believe this, I traded in a yellow 2005 350Z for my new Mini. I couldn't be happier, this car is so much more fun and so much easier to drive. I look forward to reading all the info on this site and hearing everyone's Mini stories.

Welcome to the world of MINI! Did you buy yours off of the lot or order it? Love those bonnet stripes!

Thanks! I bought it off the lot. It was hard to decide what color to get. They all looked great but what made it easy was I wanted a 6 speed manual S. They only had 2; a black very basic Mini S and this one. The auto made me feel too disconnected and coming off a manual 350Z I needed the stick.

Wow, that's a leap from the Z to a MINI. I don't think you regret it. The MINI is much more practical, more tossable and just plain fun. My initial fear of the size of the MINI is totally gone... all cars should be this size.

Welcome to MINI and NAM. You won't regret a day of it. I thought about picking a car off the lot but this way I am getting everything I could ever ask for.

Once you add the JCW or Alta mods, you should be back in the same quick zone that you had with the Z.

Yeah I miss some of that speed and the exhaust note but this car is fun just the same. The Z was going to get me in trouble!

Wow! Your Z is awesome. I can't believe you went from a Z to a MINI. The MINI is incredible, but I guess an entirely diferent mindset than the Z.

I believe it. I'd take your new MINI over the Z anyday. You made the right choice. Here's your kool-aid. Welcome to the cult.

Yeah the Z was an awesome machine but it was hard to drive, hard to see over the hood and behind you. The clutch was murder in heavy traffic too which I deal with everyday on the way to work. The Mini is one nimble machine. Everytime I drive the car I love it more and more!

I got my Mini's windows tinted today; gotta have those dark windows here in Honolulu, the sun is HOT! I'll update my picture soon.

I know what you mean by hard to drive... I test drove a Z4 coupe the other day... it was almost impossible to see out of the rear window. When it comes to your daily driver "ease of use" trumps awesomeness.

I guess those fast cars are meant to just go forward, there's no need to look back. I'm just amazed at my Mini! Now my Jeep Liberty seems like this huge monster when I drive it.
