So disappointed... MINI delayed

My ship was due into NY today but has been delayed by 3 days (on a 8 day crossing....go figure). I'm so disappointed, I thought I'd be driving by the 13th but now it looks more like it will be the 18th at the earliest!

I know, don't they realize that once you've placed the order for a mini, every minute is an agonizing wait? I'm now hoping for delivery by the 18th....I don't know if I'll make it !!!!

Mine is supposed to arrive in Charleston Saturday. My dealer is in Charlotte which is about 3 hours from there so maybe by the following week I'll have mine. I was hoping to have it for my birthday but I'll prolly miss that by just a week.

The waiting is awful isn't it? It'll be a good thing when she's finally here and I can get back to doing some work during the day rather than just searching and searching the web for information and reading of others who share my predicament

I don't know what my cargo vessel is doing ... first I hear it's a 8 day crossing, then instead of arriving yesterday I learn it's been delayed 3 days. Now it's pushed back it's arrival time another 12 hours. Man, if I was that bad at my job I wouldn't have a job. And as for excuses about weathet etc....pah!!

Hang in there Your wait time is very very short compared to what some people on NAM had to deal with . My wait time was 2.5 months and it was pretty short compared to a couple of my co-workers' wait (1year for one and 6 months for another) but that didn't stop me from driving people nuts anyway.

It's pretty impressive that the wait time is ~1 month (or less) for you - you will have a blast once you get in - so every day's wait is go going to be worth it

Hang in there. You scare me now. My vessel is supposed to be here 12/14. I will go nuts if it missed that date. Now I see why those threads are rightly called " nth week support group".

Btw, you seem to be getting up to the hour info. Which website are you using to track that info?

I'm just glad everyone is so understanding of those waiting. I'm sure someone I know was going to yell "shut-up already!" by now. But it seems everyone has MINI fever and people actually ask me what is going on with my car. I'm T-2days (week 50) until birth. Then we go dark I guess as I wait to figure out what ship it gets on.

I think it's quite a drive from Greenville to Virginia Beach, but who knows, once you get in your mini you might never want to get out again

Are you all using this site and then tracking it across the ocean with this site?

Either way, once your MINI gets to the VDC it's nearly impossible to track. The VDC seems to normally need 3-4 days (or so) and once released (your dealership gets a printout of cars released), your car is trucked to the dealership generally within a week.

Unfortunately not

Basically I'm just using all the websites everyone else has been talking about, I'll try to summarize here:

First of all it was http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do to put in my VIN and see which ship I was on (Toronto). Unfortunately this website has actually proven a bit unreliable b/c it tells me that the Toronto arrived in NY yesterday and departed again the same day. However, I called the port (yes, I'm obsessed) and they confirmed the ship wasn't due in until Sunday. I can track that now on this site http://www.firstnynj.com/ However, overall this is quite good 'cos it'll tell you the voyage number and if there's a Bill of Lading number you can put that in and see the VINs of all the other vehicles with you. You can monitor this to see when you've arrived at Southampton, been booked and then when you're loaded onto the ship etc

In addition I'm looking at http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.as...taten%20Island anxiously waiting until Toronto appears on the screen. Nothing so far...

The OL is pretty useless, it's about 4 to 5 days behind from what I can tell, and (866) ASK MINI only tracks up to the port of departure, so once the mini gets to Southampton they can't tell you any more. My MA is quite good, but I try to only call him once a week as I don't want to come across as a freak!!!!!!!!

There's another site that you can use to track the exact whereabouts of the ship, but it's up the captain whether they subscribe to it or not and in my case they haven't so there's been no info for me. You can try it tho at http://www.sailwx.info/

It's amazing what you can come up with when you're supposed to be working, but to obsessed with an impending mini arrival to actually get anything done

Hmm good to know I am not the only one obsessing about it. My ship FAUST is also not subscribed to that site. Damn these capitans. Registering with this website should be made a law. And I am also checking the NYNJ site often but no luck yet. I will probably be able to do it closer to 12/14(which is when the shipping vessel says it will be here). In the meanwhile I am gooogling like crazy to find any other website that will provide tracking like sailiwx.

Don't forget... if you are being offloaded on the west coast you can watch your ship go through the panama canal here:

If you find any other sites...

...make sure you share. I have run out of ways to fuel my obsession, so at least it's the weekend. Now I can take refuge in sleep Hopefully when I wake up on Monday the Toronto will have docked and I will be one step closer!!!

WooHoo, Mini made it off the boat. I guess she's now in a black hole until she leaves the VDC. They're not doing anything to her there, so hopefully she'll just be out of the door again quickly. Anyone have any info on the average time it takes the VDC to turn them back out again if they're not having any work done?

Awesome. A accident could have caused a delay though. My ship was delayed 1 day when that shipped sunk up in the Northern Atlantic.

Replace all the wallpapers on your computer with MINI Cooper shots. Replace the wallpaper of your phone if you can with the MINI logo. If you or any of your friends have a PS2, buy or rent Gran Turismo 4 and play the MINI Cooper Challenge. The MINIs in there are the previous gen but what the heck, still loads of fun. If you have a Netflix sub., The Italian Job is available for watching online (hours based on your subscription rate, 17$ a month = 17 hours and so on)

Download the MINI manual and read it thoroughly (not only will it fuel/calm your obsession, it will give you an idea of what to ask your MA and/or give you an idea of what your MA is talking about when you take delivery). Frequent this website / forums and search for topics you are interested in. Read tons of MC / MCS reviews and watch reviews/ads/tests on youtube. Join your local MINI club if there's one.

Three or four days at the VDC seem fairly normal. You MA will get a printout of cars that have been released from the VDC. Once your car shows up on that printout it's usually only another three or four (or less) days away! The OL will catch up sometime next month!!

Once you see "discharged" on the WW site, is that it? Or does this just mean the minis are off the ship? Is there another line that will tell me the transfer to the VDC is complete?
