Nope, you've got it. Once it is discharged, you loose all visibility.

Since you can not gauge how long the car may be in the VDC, Having an aggressive expected motoring date can be very frustrating. Mine was in VDC much longer than the 10 days I was led to expect.

Awesome news, mini was released onto a truck yesterday and should be at my dealer today. I'll be going to check on her after work and to look at the "black jack" roof graphic to see if I want that fitted too. Then I just need the JCW tuning kit fitted and I'll be good to go. Best case I'll pick up on Saturday but I'm hoping it doesn't push into next week.
Yippee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carrie---When you mature, maybe you will understand how the world works. Weather delays are real and at sea they can be very dangerous. Your comments here are rather dumb and irresponsible.

Agreed...I was referring to allowing Carrie to vent...which I thought was harmless.

I think everyone knew Carrie was joking. Nobody would want their baby endangered in any way on it's crossing. I personally hope they sent an ice pick with mine to ward off the Icebergs... if not pack a life vest in her boot.

I'm with ya Carrie on the painful waiting. Rosey finally left Southampton after a delay of like 36 hours. Longest 36 hours of my life, hopefully she won't be delayed further now that she's out to sea. Good luck with your upcoming delivery!

Double-agreed!

The harm was in the other poster's personal attack on Carrie. I don't even know her but I couldn't let that pass, ya know?

Thanks everyone (except milehighspanky) !

I certainly was only joking - didn't mean to offend anyone. I race on sail boats myself so I'm all too aware of the dangers of the ocean. Still, all was well with the vessel and I'm hoping to visit my baby this evening as she's due into the dealer today. My impatience (rather than immaturity) is still getting the better of me though - can't wait for the final delivery !!

Carrie, congrats. Looks like your MINI has made it to shore. You have had a saga and a lot of support from others. Actually, nice to see someone excited enough to keep a thread alive with commentary.

Let us know regarding the "black jack", with your DS/DS I think I would prefer some color on the roof with a UJ with the colors, but I'm a little biased.

Safe motoring.

Let's all hope Carrie diesn't have to wait until Monday for delivery. That would be terrible. I ordered my car in April and took delivery on July 31st. I didn't check on it every day. I don't know what ship it was on. When the dealer called I went and got the car. I knew it was going to take 2 1/2 months. I didn't whine about an additional 12 hour delay on a 2 1/2 month delivery. Many things can happen to delay a ships crossing. Weather, dock avaliability, strikes? The comment that we would lose our jobs if we did such a poor job as to arrive 12 hours late on a transatlantic crossing is a dumb comment. Maybe the ship should just plow ahead regardless of weather so Carrie can get her car on Saturday instead of Monday. Weather was most likely a real issue, not an excuse. Nobody was attacked, just accused of maybe being a little immature and unrealistic.

Dude, relax. Everybody has different personalities. We are not all made from the same cookie cutter. Let it go.

We all are consumers and have different expectations...welcome to a capitalist society.

Another friendly post...there is love in the air tonight. Calling someone dumb, immature and irresponsible isn't a personal attack? *Checks his dictionary*

Just get over it. Carrie was venting and i was a little taken aback by her choice of words in the "they would lose their jobs" post but i saw that post for what it was - someone trying to release some steam. You on the other hand seem to take it personally. What gives?

I see Carrie's car was ordered on 11/19, built on 11/26, awaiting transport on 11/28, at dist center on 12/10, and at the dealer the next day on 12/11. What is there to complain about?

I've already politely mentioned that fact where i said that her wait time is incredibly short compared to many people i know of. People have, do and will always complain about something. If it bothers you so much, unsubscribe from the thread or ignore Carrie so you don't have to see her posts. *puzzled*

This kind of abuse wasn't what I expected from this site. My most sincere apologies to all those I have offended, it was absolutely not intentional. I am also fully aware that I am very lucky in that my wait will have been very short compared to that of others. I guess I was coming from the opinion that any wait at all was going to be a painful one - I have been so excited I've been having a hard time containing it.

Anyway, I think I'll be keeping my thoughts to myself from now on. It's been nice chatting with you all.
All the best.

And I don't even think Carrie was complaining...more like venting, as has been observed. Spanky obviously hasn't spent sufficient time here to know the high-level of whining, angst, tears, and worry that many, many owners express over the transit of their MINIs. It's something of an art around here, and Carrie is well within the bounds of that noble tradition. Good job, Carrie!! How did all this get so out-of-hand, you may ask?? One word...one that strikes fear in any MINI-owner-in-waiting with an ounce of feeling........TRICOLOR!!!

Is it wrong that some people get really excited about the arrival of their car? I for one am waiting on pins and needles and I count myself very lucky that I'm not having as long of a wait as some people or that I'm not even on the West Coast to make the crossing even longer. I think if I had to wait over 2 months I would have been more low key about it but when it's this fast it kinda heightens the excitement. And getting a delay is like telling a kid that Santa is going to be late. It's not going to kill them but it's definitely disappointing.

Carrie- If you want to read something to show you're not alone and to get a laugh check out this thread, it definitely helped me pass the time and definitely shows that they're not all haters out there. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=106485

Trust me, young lady, you are well within your rights on this!!! Anybody doing a search around here knows full well that this is how it goes for most of us MINIacs. Do not accept this silly attack....we won't!!

See, I have a theory....you spend weeks/months configuring your MINI and basically fall in love. Then you actually order it and wait, and wait, and wait for your MINI to get built. Somewhere in there you lose your sanity...if not, the last shreds are severed as your beloved car (all shiney and new) crosses the ocean!! In the end, by the time you actually go pick to up your car you have become a basket case w/o a shred of sanity left. But guess what??? Now you have a brand new MINI and after motoring you find that you really didn't need that sanity afterall because it's been replaced with a big ol' perma-grin. Then you start washing your car all the time and QDing in between washes. See...no need of that surpus sanity after all!!! It's part of the initiation process!!!

Don't think you've offended anyone and i don't see any reason to apologise. Also i don't think one person's "not so polite" opinions should lead you to generalize a whole website as being abusive. All i can say is just you wait till you get in your car - i still smile when no one's around and i am driving. Your baby will be a total blast to motor in.
