I noticed the Asian King hanging out at the southampton docks since around the time the FREEDOM was there. Didn't realize it was a vehicle carrier...sounded more like a shrimp boat.

I'm pretty sure I'm a week 49er, my '08 mini was in production more than a week ago and has been "awaiting transport" for a week. My question is, where did you guys get your VINs? I've looked all over the owner's lounge, and the only place I see it listed is under my account, but when I look at my account, the VIN's first several characters are Xed out. Help! I want to know where my precious mini is!

 

I had trouble finding it too... Once you log in to the OL, click on Where's My Baby. The graphic will come up, do a little ditty, then you'll be faced with a screen showing where the system thinks your MINI is. Click on the Review Order Detail and you VIN and production number will be listed. Good luck.

 

Found it! Now I'm embarrassed I contacted my dealer! Oh well. I have two ships listed, the Freedom (which has a bill of lading number) and the Asian King. The time for both ships is the same (Dec. 8, 3:30 pm). I guess I'm on one of those...

 

Go to the booking number of the freedom and the asian king respectively and see which of them your car is on...it'll list your VIN.

 

My VIN is listed on BOTH cargo lists....on the Freedom it's listed as "Loaded on Vessel" and on the Asian King it's listed as "Received at Terminal." Maybe it was slated for whichever ship had room for it, and the Freedom got the honor. In any case, now I play the waiting game....even more....

 

Loaded on vessel means it is on the FREEDOM. You and are on the same ship. Where are you located?

 

I'm outside DC, so hopefully from offloading to being at my dealer won't take too long. They have to install the sports stripes though, and my salesman said the guy who does that only comes once a week. I'm glad I found this site, it's nice to know others are chomping at the bit like me! I've wasted so much time at work on this site today...

My MA called me today with the news that he expects my car to be at the dealership on the 20th! At the latest, he said I'll be getting the car sometime between Christmas and New Years. Great news! I just wish I could have tracked it across the Atlantic.

 

Yes, I got the stripes down the middle. I wanted the stripes in the back too. if only it didn't cost $200 to install!

 

FAUST is scheduled to dock on 12/16 accourding to firstnynj.com. Damn it. It was supposed to dock 12/14.

 

Look around on NAM there's a thread somewhere about people installing their own boot stripes. Tt looks pretty idiot proof. I'll probably be doing it myself once I can scrape up a bit more cash. I wish I had gotten the center stripes now but oh well.

 

My car is now "Loaded on Vessel" on the Asian King, scheduled to arrive in NY on 12/20/2007.

It should be leaving Southampton now, or might have already left. I guess I'll be moving over to (or starting) an "All aboard the Asian King" thread.

I also ordered a MY/B with black bonnet stripes. I'm in NJ, but I'm on the FREEDOM not the ASIAN SHRIMPBOAT.

Are you financing? What sort of numbers did they give you?

Since I ordered my Mini I'm fricken' OBSESSED with picking them out of the pack on the highway. I can't wait!
