First Time MCS Owners

Wife Niki just purchased '07 Mini Cooper S, BRG/White top/mirrors, Automatic, with Prem. Pkg. & cold weather pkg. Although never before a British Auto fan, I am totally enamoured with this thing.
Have only had the car for a month and am coming up with a lot of questions that I'm hoping someone out there can answer. The dealership is 350 miles away so can't stop by there and get answers to silly things I would like to know.
Hope

Congratulations on a great choice of car!

NAM's a great place to chat about questions- although they're easier to answer when they're asked

The search function's here is a bit weird to get used to, but once you have the hang of it, it's a great way to find answers on stuff too.

Another resource that you might want to check into is a local Mini club. They're all over the place, and there's lots of very helpful people around.

Welcome to NAM and a great community. Ask your questions or search the forum, either way you will get a variety of answers.

There is lots of vendor support on NAM.

If you have pictures, share them. We do like pictures of new MINIs and their owners.

Enjoy and drive safe.

I love my new Mini!!!

I just got my ligntning blue mini and I LOVE it! I also rented The Italian Job! Haven't driven standard in a LONG time...so just wondering...when driving in the city, what should the RPM's read - sometimes I'm not sure whether to put it in 3rd or 4th.

If you may need a surge of acceleration, 3rd is a good bet. If cruising along, 4th. Between 1500 and 2000 RPM is a nice range to be in, but of course it depends on what kind of city traffic you are in.

Jim, I've found NAM a fount of information. Generally, I'll get an answer to my question quicker on NAM than even checking the index of my Owner's Manual...
