I'm new!
Just wanted to say hello with my first post here on the forum. Just purchased my first Mini (Chili Red/White Roof) this past week. I'm in love with this car. It was a very slightly used '06 with 8k miles.
I've had several VWs, then somehow found myself in a Jeep Liberty for a while.....so nice to zip around in a small car again!
Anyhow, just wanted to introduce myself. Looking forward to reading/learning about these cars as time goes on.

Welcome to NAM Fastlane!! I got my MINI at Dreyer& Reinbold as I assume you did. Rhonda was my MA, a real sweetheart!!! I live in central Ga. and try and get back up for my scheduled service. They have always treated me right.

Welcome! I've lately been falling in love with CR/W minis! Throw some white bonnet stripes on it

Silverbullit: Yes, I got the car at Dreyer and Reinbold. I didn't deal directly with the Mini people as this was on the used lot, but the salesman (Scott) knew alot about the car and I get the impression that he works in Mini sales as well in the other building. I was impressed with the dealership. I negotiated in the deal to have an iPod interface installed and a small ding taken out of the side (barely see it)...so they are taking it in later this week while I get a loaner car. Happy so far.
Noles825: Yes, I think white bonnet stripes is exactly what it needs! Agreed. Also want to put some driving lights on the grille at some point. I don't have the scoop up there in front, so it needs something in my opinion.

BTW, one thing I've learned about Chili Red... best photos are taken in shade or indirect lighting. The color looks richest that way.

Hey CR&PW&JB, how did you put the full checked roof graphic with the sunroof? That looks great!

I watched some of the install and it required a very steady hand and lots of patience. He cut the sunroof last... as the vinyl adheres to the roof and the glass, you can easily see the border of the sunroof, where the felt is. He then cut it out and tucked in both edges, one on the glass and one on the roof side.
It came out great... with the roof closed, you can barely even tell there is a sunroof.

Looks like you have some plans and you have some great examples of what you can do with a Cooper within this thread.

Welcome to NAM! Nice looking car. I know you'll enjoy you-ifying it! Yes, by all means, make contact with the Indy club. I wish I had kept up better. They had a "twisties" day at the go kart track not 12 miles from my house and I only heard about it the next day! Bummer!!
