Why, Why, Why...would you want to remove the dead pedal?

Yes it is removable... You will need to pry off the cover (the part that looks like a pedal). I use small flat bladed screw drivers - 2 of them - to work all the snap clips loose. Next reomve the two 10mm nuts... All you are left with is two studs sticking out of the carpet...

What you do from there??? I am curious...

Sorry to get your curiousity up when you hear what a boring answer I have for all of you, I have a bad left knee that "locks" up if I keep it bent for a period of time, I have to be able to extend my leg out all of the way to straighten it out and "unlock" it. We test drove a Mini that wasn't a S the other day and this vehicle didn't have a protruding dead pedal and of course I haven't be able to test drive any S's and from pics I've seen it looks like there is a dead pedal. My husband absolutely wants a S, I really don't care to much either way just that I know that I can comfortably drive the non S without any knee problems. So I was curious about it and trying to search online for any pics of the dead pedal to see just how bad it is. Thanks for the replies, I am researching the car as much as possible and this site seems to be a hoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've driven both the MCS and MC and they are exactly the same from the drivers seat as far as all the seating dimesions are concerned. I drive a MC ragtop and I find the headroom in a coupe with the sunroof a little short, but then I stand 6'3". Leg room, hip room, shoulder room is the same as far as I can tell.
