R56 Production Week 44 Support Group

I just spoke to the nice folks at 1-866-ASK-MINI, and as of yesterday, I'm confirmed for PRODUCTION WEEK 44. This makes me a Very Sad Bunny (TM).

Are there any other Week 44 folks out there yet? It's probably ridiculously early to start a week 44 thread, but I could definitely use some support right about now.

And I was getting so excited when I saw all these week 41 people with order dates so close to mine...

Ordered 9/29 from MINI of Sterling.

Specs:

LiB/W MCa
Bonnet Stripes
Grey/Black Leatherette
Sport Seats
Cold Weather Package
Premium Package
All Season Tires
Auto Dimming Rearview
DSC
Front/Rear Foglamps
Hifi Sound System

It's never to early to start waiting!

Pretty much everyone I know now checks with me before I get the chance to tell them how much longer I have to wait. But... half of them check because they want to drive it when it gets here :D

Thanks for the words of encouragement, and for giving me a little bit of perspective... if I had had to wait 2 months just to get a production number, my head would have exploded!

Nothing to do now but wait, I suppose. At least I'll have plenty of time to build the perfect MINI Mix CD for that first drive home!

Well, thanks to NAM I knew to start shopping a bit earlier than I expected. They just sell more cars than they can get allocated- there's less of a wait now. I wish that I could have just called up a dealer and dropped the cash (and debt to get one right away, but we needed to plan for it. The way I see it, at least I can get it!

Waiting makes the heart grow fonder, after all...

Which is not to say I'm not impatient- at least my excitement is rubbing off on my wife. She now spots more Minis on the road that I do!

Yay! Hi guys! Nice to know I'm not the only one desperately awaiting Week 44 anymore.

Those are some fine spec lists you've got there. I hope my poor little MC won't be too disappointed when it gets here -- while all the other MINIs have new wheels and the like waiting for them, the first "mod" awaiting my MC is the...

<drum roll>

PoochStyle Back Seat Car Mat!

My poor MC... it probably has dreams of the track, but it has no way of knowing that its sole purpose in life is as a daily driver/Beaglemobile.

Hey everyone. I'm surprised to see so few of us in week 44, maybe more to come? Anyways, just checking in wondering how everyone is coping with the wait? It's been really tough for me because all I do when i'm not studying is looking for parts or news, or anything I can do for my mini. My salesman, Mark Smith from Mini of Fairfield County in Stamford, CT has been a tremendous help with all my questions and concerns, greets me by name when I walk in to the dealership and really loves what he does! It's great to see someone passionate in what they do, makes me feel better! Besides, he should be happy, he has a gorgeous Laser Blue JCW kitted and tuned r56. Anyways, like I said just checking in to see how everyone else is doing.

Audio Package
Convenience Package
LSD
DSC
Sport Suspension
Xenon

Awesome news...

My motoring advisor called me today to tell me my car has moved into production a week early, in which it started on the 23rd of October! I was so excited because now it will be arriving around my birthday. Well, I guess now I will be in week 43, but good luck to all!

Hi to DarthJader! And congrats to Stevie - that's great news! I swear, the last few weeks have gone by SO slowly... week 44 can NOT get here soon enough!

START DATE!!

Just called 1-866-ASK-MINI (yet again) and spoke to the very nice Jeremy, who told me that I have subassemblies ("hunks of metal and an engine and such"), and that I'll be starting production on the 30th.

And btwdriver, tell your GF that the best way to cope with you ordering a MINI is to get one of her own!

Crunchyfrog... I think that would make you a production week 45... I thought the production week is when your car will be completed. My car went into production on the 24th and will be out on the 30th.

Or maybe I am just confused about the whole production week thing...

You're not necessarily confused... people around here like to identify production week based on their completion date for lots of reasons, but when your MA and the folks at 1-866-ASK-MINI tell you a production week, they tell you based on start date. I placed my order weeks ago, so "Week 44" was the only thing I've had to keep me warm at night for quite awhile. Forgive me if I'm not so quick to rush to the week 45 thread...

Week 44? Vin number

My production week starts on 29 Oct. I got my vin number today but I cannot look up any data on the us mini site since I placed my order with military sales here in Germany.

I'm a little bummed there hasn't been more activity in this thread.

I'm in the paint shop and should be done tomorrow. Anyone have any idea how long it takes for the car to loaded on to a ship following completion?

In my week, cars were taking two to four days-ish to be reported as on the docks. How much time to be loaded depends on which ship you're on. And... which ship your on depends on where you are in the country.

There's a good overview here.

DarthJader.. There is a ship leaving for the US (I presume you are taking delivery thorough a port on the Eastern Coast) on both Oct 30th and then again Nov 2nd. I have attached (hopefully ) the ship schedule for our time range. It should give you some idea when you car will leave for the US and how long it should take to get here.

No schedule attatched

Ship schedule did not attach.

I don't understand 6-8 weeks. If the boat takes 2 and say a week at vdc with a week on the road to get to houston that would be 4...not so I guess

going4speed.... I corrected the attachment. When I ordered my car I was told 6-8 weeks for the whole process. I was "on order" for about 2 weeks, in production for around a week, 2 weeks for the boat ride, a week at the vdc and a couple of days to get to Dallas where I am located.

I am hoping my car will be on the Freedom leaving Southampton on the 2nd.

btw, good info. I'm in LA, so I'll be taking delivery from Port Hueneme. Doesn't say on that chart what the Nov departure schedule is. Do you have a link to that?\
