All aboard the Courage! Week 37 - Lv Southampton 9/15/07

I have slowly gotten sucked into this "where's my MINI" thing and am glad to report that the factory is *really* firing on all cylinders...

9/12, WED, my car is complete, released from factory.
9/13, THU, arrives Southampton.
9/14, FRI, loaded on vessel, WOOT!!!, the Courage...
9/15, SAT, scheduled departure...

Impressive!!

Here's the schedule, let's party!!

Still hoping I'll be onboard with you, but as of 10 minutes ago no auto cargo for my VIN. Mine started finished production on 9/13 and arrived at the dock late this afternoon.

Would you mind posting the booking number for this ship?

Unless my MINI grabs the rope hanging off the back it looks like I'll miss this ride home. For everyone on board... enjoy your trip!

COURAGE INFO

The link below has some info on the Courage, she has changed names/colors twice it seems. She is now in the ARC line (http://www.arrcnet.com), which is one the WW lines.

Didn't make it. Still shows no Auto Cargo for the ID I entered.

I don't think my cooper made it either, it was finished on 9/14. Ask Mini says that it hasn't been released to the carrier.

Duffer, this means your MINI is on it's way to the port right now. When it arrives there the status will be "at port, awaiting a shipping vessel". The next WW ship for the east coast is the INTEGRITY which leaves this Friday, 9/21/07.

Great news for all those aboard! I just wished I had made the ship, but I'm now wondering if I'm not on a K-Line ship. My MA does not seem to know as he still thinks my car is in production and clearly it's not.

I'm wondering because while checking the booking number of this ship I see VIN numbers all around mine, within 1 digit to be exact, but it seems to skip mine.

Not to give you false hopes, you very well could be on one of the other shipping lines. It seems when one is not on a WW ship, getting info from an MA depends on the MA. Some seem to do very well, others....well ya know.

Not on K-Line either. I know you can't track auto cargo with K-Line but my wife just so happens to work in the transportation business and has a contact at K-Line North America. They said that VIN is not loaded on any of there vessels at this time.

Guess my next chance to hitch a ride comes Friday. :impatient

Wow, my little pocket rocket will hit the NY/NJ VDC just 26 days after order. I don't have any VDC options to install so it looks like sometime next week I'll get to pick it up... Yeah, BABY!!!

Any truth to the rumor that MINI ownership suspends the aging process?

Why is everyone so quiet! I barely have any fingernails left! The wait is a bummer! They should sell the 'hibernation package' with the MINI, that way you can go into 'hibernation' and wake up once your MINI is ready to be delivered!

Just got around to checking things today - does WW not record the unloading of vehicles? My VIN still shows "on board". Actually they all still show up that way.

My car won't need any VDC work - any good estimates on length of time at port?

Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since order, much faster than I was expecting. It's getting exciting!

Discharged!

Mine just showed up as "discharged" on the WW site! Now, the waiting without the ability to track anything might just kill me.

Sorry for being a bit slow, yes the WW site does update and show "discharged" but can be a bit lagged at times.
Once at the VDC it can be like falling into a dark hole, info on OL can be very lagged and rather useless at times. Your best bet for current info is to keep in contact with your MA
and hopefully he will be good at finding the most current info. Times of making it thru a VDC can vary for many reasons, and I'm more fermiliar with the once here in CA. If you
check other ship arrival posts you will find others in your areas that can give the time it took for thier deliveries from the VDC to dealer.

I emailed my MA to see if he had any info. He replied that it's scheduled to arrive at the dealership on October 30 and we should expect delivery November 1 or 2. The dealership is in Virginia. Why is it taking a MONTH to get there? I asked him to clarify if he actually meant September 30 and if not, what's going on. I hope nothing happened to my Mini on the way over!

Some MA's wil over estimate delivery dates to avoid having unhappy customers. Our MA was still saying two weeks even when Skeeter was on a transport truck and only 360 miles away from home.
