R56 Week 38 Production Support Group

Hi everyone,

-Thought I'd add this thread, as I couldn't find one while searching. We just ordered our LB MCS this past Saturday (9/8). Week 38 is next week, so that's cool-- not a super long wait. Our other car had a 2 month lag, in contrast.

We ordered the car from Magdalena Brancaccio at Morristown Mini and she was super nice.

Any other folks put orders in for week 38, too?

Jakeman

My order went in Monday, 9/10, so I'm not sure if that means week 38 or later. Hoping for 38! Ordered from Brian Harris MINI in Baton Rouge, and they seem very nice thus far.

If you have just a production number then you won't have a production week till you have a Vin # show on the Owners Lounge, ASK MINI or your MA contacts you with one.
If you have a Vin # and the Owners Lounge or ASK MINI, or your MA has stated that your Mini actually started production on 9/10 then you would be in week 37, weeks run Sun thru Sat. Hope this helps some.

I ordered last Thursday ... got a call from the dealership today and was told mine is scheduled for production on the 18th. The owner's lounge still says "Ordered".

My dealer quoted me as Week 38... 866ASKMINI confirms this, saying I have a confirmed production week for week 38.

Ordered last Sunday, the 9th.

It's been only 3 days, and I've read the brochure cover to cover trying to quell the anticipation... I've managed to stay out of the owners manual so far.

My only relief is NAM...

My wife says every other thing I say translates roughly to "miniminiminiminiminiminimini"...

Hi again,

I just called 866 ASK-MINI. My car entered production today (as of 813am) and is slated to be completed on the 20th. It has a VIN, too! WooHoo!!

Well that went about like it has the other times I've called:

"Order has been accepted, scheduled for production in week 38. Should be finished by the 23rd"...

Does anyone know what the shipping schedule is like for the next few weeks? If it is finished by the 23rd, what boat will I catch?

As usual there are ships weekly, and untill you know which shipping line you will be on it is rather impossible to know which ship. You can estimate about 14 -15 days from Southampton to your area, but until you are at the docks trying to guess which ship would be like playing the lottery.

Orgin Port/Departure Date/Destination Port/Arrival Date/Vessel Name
SOUTHAMPTON 15/09/2007 CHARLESTON,SC 29/09/2007 COURAGE
SOUTHAMPTON 21/09/2007 CHARLESTON,SC 06/10/2007 INTEGRITY
SOUTHAMPTON 29/09/2007 CHARLESTON,SC 13/10/2007 FREEDOM
SOUTHAMPTON 06/10/2007 CHARLESTON,SC 20/10/2007 PATRIOT

The first 2 ships appear to be out of reach since you won't be out of production until 9/23. As Tharkun said estimating the ship is like playing the lottery. In theory you could make the FREEDOM, but you could miss it and end up on the PATRIOT.

Do you know what ships are heading toward Port Jersey after the 20th?

Thanks!

New status... production started 9/15, rep indicated this means vehicle subassemblys are becoming available?

Anyway, estimated completion is still for Week 38, now estimating 9/22...

And I've got a VIN in the OL!

We have a VIN # too! According to ask-mini, production started yesterday and our baby should be completed by Wed, then stays in England for about 5 days before then on the ship....

Same schedule, just subtract 2 days from the arrival in Charleston to calculate the arrival in NY.

I ordered mine on 9/7, and it arrived at the SH port yesterday waiting for a carrier. I _think_ it'll be travelling on the WW MANON, at least that's my understanding based on the schedule from SH to the West Coast - it's scheduled to leave SH next Monday.

I can't find any info about other carriers that travel to the West Coast.

askmini says the car has finished production as of 9/21, and is now waiting on a boat in southampton, having arrived at the port today 9/24...

And now -- we wait.
