Well folks, Evan of Towson MINI in Baltimore called today to tell me my BRG Cooper has arrived! I will be unable to go get it until a week from Thursday, however.

Reason is, my wife and I are flying out this Tueasday to San Diego for my son's graduation from USMC boot camp. My brother is flying down from Seattle for the event and our family reunion.

Talk about having an approach-avoidance conflict. I WANNA BE IN BOTH PLACES THIS WEEK.

The MINI will be there when you get back. Your son will only graduate from USMC boot camp once. You're making the right call. How'd he end up in San Diego if you're in MD? Or was he already living out west when he signed up?

Tell him he's lucky he didn't end up in South Carolina (PI). That whole experience still has me avoiding going to SC like the plague!

Thanks to all who wrote about my Marine son and my new MINI. The son starts training in Dam Neck, Virginia next month. He'll be there until the end of December.

I've managed to complete my 1,200 miles running-in period properly, so now I get to drive weekends between HdG and Dam Neck with gusto...
