How do you see which ships are leaving which ports? I know how to go the ww site and enter in my VIN (my baby is not scheduled for a ship yet!), but I see that you were able to determine what dates ships are leaving and where they are going.

Looks like my MCS is on the Maersk Wave, departing 10 Sept and arriving 1 Oct. Cool! All this waiting feels better now.

 

Help out an ignorant soul...my owner's lounge info says, "awaiting transport."

So, how do I find out my VIN, estimate which ship it's on, etc...?

The OL should give your your VIN #, if it is not showing there, call ASK MINI and talk to an assiatant, give them your production number they will have your VIN #.
You should be on one of the WW ships to Port Hueneme and once you have your VIN# that site will tell you what ship you are on.

horray! my car was loaded onto the Maersk Wave today and it was scheduled for departure today, now we have to keep an eye out for it one the http://www.sailwx.info/ website !
With whom do I share the pleasure of sharing the boat ride with? anyone? anyone?

 

its still shows awaiting transport and ASK Mini has no additional shipping info... so guess pepe isnt keep yours company ;-(

I thought I would finally chime in. I've been browsing the forums for weeks now gathering a wealth of information that helped me place my order.

Like you....I am playing the waiting game. It sure is nice to read everybody's messages to help pass the time.

I've ordered a MCS Laser Blue/White with the following options:

- White turn-signal lights

I ordered her on 8/21/07 and she went into production on 9/2/07 and completed on 9/7/07. ASK MINI reported her "At the Port" yesterday. Checked "Auto Cargo" status with WW for kicks and giggles today and my MINI's VIN # was in their system. Their system indicates she will take her voyage on the "OTELLO" which was scheduled to leave on 9/11/07. I guess I'll find out in the next day or two if she actually made it on Otello today (or now yesterday). The next scheduled ship is in 4 days on 9/15/07. So, I hope she made it on the ship TODAY!!!!

I wonder how long she will stay in the New York port....

She will reside in Pennsylvania. I pass 3 MINI's on the way to work every day (Orange-like, Pepper White & Red). I can't wait to be able to blink my lights at them and say "Hello".

 

Otello departed Zeebrugge Belgium on 9/11 and has arrived and docked at Southampton today and departs the port today. Once she is docked and begins loading the Mini cargo, if you check the WW site using your booking number it will display a list of all the VIN #'s, you can actually see what time your Mini boards the ship.

Aargh! I am so jealous of everyone seeing their baby scheduled for a ship (I'm happy for you, though )

My MINI was completed on 9/6, and all I keep getting for status is "Waiting for release to carrier" - whatever the hell that means!

I can't wait to feel the engine rumbling, the Shift **** in my hand, the wind in my hair... Damn, there I go again, getting myself all worked up!

Anyway, had to vent little - hope you all get your MINIs soon, and all is right with them!

My car is on board a ship now and Mini still says it's waiting for a shipping vessel.

Once the car is at the port, ASK Mini is almost useless. You can check your VIN against the ships that are leaving to see which one you are on.

 

I'm also on the Maersk Wave! Woohoo! Has it departed yet? I don't see any updated status on sailwx.

 

I have already been to the shipping site and entered in my VIN (numerous times!) - no tracking information available... sigh.

 

She is not showing on the AISfree so likely beyond that coverage area and at sea. Since the saiwx site shows last reports of July, the Captain may or may not use the system on this voyage. You can keep checking to see if she pops up on sailwx.

Most Minis making the trek to the bay aeaa pass Tracy, one reason I considered looking at them after seeing so many of them.

Not sure how many are on the Maersk Wave but you may want to start a seperate thread for tracking her. I'll give you the links and info on how to track her thru the canal, they have live cams and you can get some good pics. Should be at the canal about 9/21-23 depending on her speed across the Atlantic.

 

I keep getting the same thing awaiting transport... called to ASK MINI today - they advised I contact my MA as they dont have any extra info... called my MA - she advised that she didnt have any extra info either and would be looking at the same site to try to track it...

Is there anything else I should be doing when I go inot the WW site... I go to track Cargo, Auto Cargo and enter in the full vin... anything else I should do or leave off the vin number ie only the numbers no letters etc... or can I search by ship (which seems time consuming!)

ok yes I am getting anxious to make sure she gets onto a ship!!

 

In the auto cargo ID box, just type in the whole VIN number, and it should pop up. Otherwise, it still may be waiting at the port, or not updated yet.

Tharkun...I started the ship tracking thread!

 

If you are on the west coast then 99% chance you will be on a WW ship. If not going to the west coast, then you could be on a WW ship, K-Line, NYK. If you are anything but a WW line, then tracking will be diffacult and you will need assistance from your MA.
But post any questions and there is always help/support here.

 

Even on the WW line, tracking can be difficult. Not all of their ships use the weather tracking system that sailww uses so it's hard to locate the ship once it leaves port, until it gets to Panama.

 

Thanks that is very reassuring - Pepe is coming to live in Chicago, IL - so will have to be patient - in just speaking with my MA - she is predicting that she will be here in 3 weeks.....

 

My baby is still waiting to be released to carrier from the factory -not sure what is up... unless they ran mine into a wall and are repairing it
