Hi from SUNNY So Cal!!!

I had two cool things happen yesterday. . .
1. Was at an ed. conference and decided to buy a book and some classroom stuff with my MINI Visa. The speaker looked at my card, said, "What an awesome card! Do you like MINI Coopers?" I told him that the one on the card was MY car. He just grinned and told me that a MINI is going to be his retirement present to himself. I told him life is too short, get one NOW!

2. Stopped off to get gas for my Saturn. The guy at the station looked at me and my car and asked where my new MINI is. He remembered it from when hubby brought it in to check the air pressure in the tires. What a gorgeous car Now to fix her crooked little bonnet. . .

Scoopmama - I'm sorry if I alarmed you with my comment about the bonnet fix being difficult. It should be rather simple ~15 minutes with experienced hands. I still have to think about where the bonnet and boot are each time I use or hear the terms. When you wrote, I heard bonnet, thought hat on top of head and linked it to the roof. Now, that would have difficult to fix, but the bonnet as the hood... that's easy! DUH!

minicounter - Let us know what your schedule is. I drive near the airport on the way home each night.

LilA - Rain? We laugh in the face of rain. We're just not too fond of wet butts.

The dealer canceled my warranty work yesterday. They did not have a loaner car. I am rescheduled for next week. My wife said to ask for free driving lights like Bluebell got. I told her NOT to make light of the pain that minicounter went through and that we could be understanding.

We are in for some wild weather this weekend here in the NW. Possible snow Sat AM and high winds and driving rain Sunday. Yipee!!!

Good morning! The Karmic rain gods were listening, and this morning we've got rain! Beautiful, autumn rain with a high in the '60's. I know. . . sounds like spring, huh? We NEED it after all the fires last month. Our hills look so dry and grey now, with all the ash.

Mini2Na- I wasn't too worried. . . but until our trimester finals are done and my grades for 160 kids are in next week, I'm not going to think about the bonnet alignment. Fortunately I have lots of pics!

I'm wondering why MINI can't just drill little deflector holes in the upper frame around the door. . . then the water wouldn't accumulate! Of course, Baby is dry in her garage right now. . .

Question for all ya'll . . .I got the MINI Only Parking template in the mail, and the garage is hubby's domain. If it were YOUR garage, and your wife painted that in hot pink, would you be upset? Annoyed? Amused? I'm just trying to figure how much to make Scoop's presence felt even more! It would go on the garage side of the door that leads into the laundry room. I'm thinking cute and appropriate. . . feedback, folks?

I don't know about the Hot Pink part, but the sign sounds like something I should have in my hubby's garage also!!

Maybe try using chalk in case it doesn't go over so well! Did you just get your template? I haven't got one yet (but then I'm at least a week behind you guys) I'll have to use it here at the office - not that anyone would dare park in MY spot anyway It's right outside my office window so I can gaze at her and dream of romps in the hills! (only on breaks and lunch of course )

Scoopmama - Go with Hot Pink Paint. Your the woman...we all know you rule the roost. Hubby gets mad....cut him off! It's simple, really...

I guess I spoke too soon about rain... it's raining nonstop out here. They say we're supposed to get 2+ inches in the next 24 hours. That equals two feet out here since we have absolutely NO drainage. But ah...I am off to the sunny Bahamas tomorrow! I'll talk to everyone when I get back next week.

Did anyone see this thread? MY 2006 - Production Week 45 Support group. They have 1136 posts. I was quite surprised to see a support group thread with more than ours. Well... They have been going at it for more than a year longer.

We are a tight group! Good for us.

Have a blast!

Ok. If we only have 100 more posts in our second year, that's just wrong! Our MINIs set the bar high this summer for fun. We can't let them down!

No I hadn't seen this one - good for them but we're going to blow them away!! So was it you that said one of the threads were fighting? I missed that entertainment as well... Probably a good thing.

Well looks like I will be giving the GPS a work-out and going to the dealership right after my class on Monday.. (about 4:30) so if it's going to rain like you said - that should be fun Maybe we could all go on a MINI run and set together in traffic!! Man I miss the city... NOT!!

Anyway I will be coming up Sunday afternoon so I will give you both a ring when I have a little better idea of what I'm doing...

Oh goody! Had NO idea what this year's Christmas card would be. Last year was a go right after summer vacation- I snapped an awesome shot of my boys playing on the coast by Heart Castle, and that was the first card I'd sent out in 5 years. Ya know, once the little guy is walking, out of diapers and in first grade, it's time to update!!!

So, this morning I found out the humane society is sponsoring a pet pictures day with Santa! So boys are getting clean, and we're getting precious ferret ready for his photo op! He's put on his winter poundage, and his coat is really thick now, so he's more plump and fuzzy than his typical slender weaselly self! Grooming session then we're off! Hope Santa doesn't freak!

Well guys - good news - bad news ... Good news - I'm trying out a manual MC right now... bad news - I'm trying out Jarid's MC (you know this one Kimberely) Same song.. next verse... Last night BlueBelle decided she didn't want to keep running (stalled right after start) Fortunately it was not one of my very late work nights... This morning I got to take a ride up to see your snow Kimberely and MINI2na - in a Tow truck (it was cold but beautiful down here) Jarid was kind enough to give me the MINI off his back... I don't know maybe she's a city girl. I thought the driving lights would help her adjust to rural life... So I'm back to using the blue faces again...

I'm still coming up again tomorrow so I'll be in touch...

BTW it's been interesting switching to the manual.. my thumbs wonder what to do and how do you all remember where reverse is? It just seems wrong for it to be forward... and do you skip gears when shifting or row all the way thru?

I guess I'm getting what I deserve after boasting on my auto for my trip to the city... looks like I'll be exercising with the rest of you

Yawn. My older son left Inkheart out last night, and I picked it up to glance through and see what it's about, since I know he loves the book. Well, I finished it, and it was 3AM! Yikes! Now I see why he lost sleep reading her series of books. Fun to be in a world of another person's creation for a bit!

Poor Bluebelle!!!! That girl just likes spa treatments. At least you get a MINI loaner.

Alas, our snow didn't stay on the ground for long. But, Mt. Hood should get quite a bit.

Boo Hoo minicounter. I am scheduled to take Frodo in Wed, but nothing of the importance you are experiencing. Not that I want to predict anything, but how far away are you from the lemon law?

I skip 4th or 5th all the time, but rarely both. It just depends how far I wind in out in the next lower gear.

Keep us informed of Bluebell's and your travels.

The snow was a bust, but the wind has been here all day. Blustery, blustery day!

Well I'm all checked in here at the airport hotel... it was definitely a wet one coming up... I don't know what tomorrow is going to look like... I am going to give Ann a call at my first break to see what the next step is. I called her on Friday and we had planned to meet Mon afternoon to look at a little ow-wee Bluebelle had. Well I would guess we have some other things to discuss... There are only a few more days left till LL applies but so far they have been very good and open with all the options...

All that said - I don't think I'm going to know much until later tomorrow - might be a trip to the other side of town tomorrow afternoon... something I'm sure you would all recommend in this weather.... so I've got your cell's and you've got mine... I will be leaving to go back on Tuesday evening. If it works out I'll cry on your shoulders - if it doesn't work out I'll simply add more blue to this thread..

I don't know if you remember Kimberely - but the loaner MINI has a GPS mount in it. Works great for the one I'm trying out... Wouldn't work with anything bigger though...

Well I'm going down to see if I can find some food...

Thanks everyone for your sympathy and understanding it really does help...

Update: I got to talk to minicounter this evening on the phone. No news on Bluebell as of ~5:00PM. I was not able to free myself up to see her, but Kimberely might.

She sounds amazingly upbeat after Bluebell had to go to the SPA for the second time.

I hope things get resolved soon.
