One more thing... (separate post of course) I opened yesterday's mail this AM and got a surprise! I have a registration for what looks like a 2008 Chev convertible corvette!! Dated the same day I bought my MINI. I recall they started to issue me regular plates so there must have been some mix-up. Or maybe it really was 2-for-1 day! I know that sometimes I have some clients that everything seems to happen to... I must be one of theirs right now I keep remembering 'do unto others' - I know they will take care of me...but.... oh well - at least it's not raining yet

Well guy's no good news today... :impatient :impatient :impatient :impatient and almost ! I'm not feeling so positive about the experience... . Not a good day at all...

Tomorrow our hometown team is hosting the first round of playoffs in football for the first time in forever. It's a big deal around here and should be fun. My nephew and son's friends play on the team. My grandma went to the school, parents and sisters all graduated there before we all left to work hard in other states so we could come back to raise our kids here! It's a small school with about 600 total 1-12.

The last game they played went 4 overtimes to finally get the win. Anyway thought I would inch us up the scale with something other than all 's

Whatcha all doing this weekend?

It sounds like Blue Belle went from having a cold ~ straight to the flu. I recommend lots of fluids! The Docs will help though; sometimes it just takes longer to get better than we want. But, be of good cheer, she will pull out of this just fine. She might even need a gift or something special when she returns for being such a brave girl. She is probably just as insecure as Mom is.

Weekend plans are shopping. I think my hubby wants a miter saw and I need a party dress for my work's Christmas Party. Weather is supposed to be dreadful for the next week, so nothing more interesting than commuting going on.

I did see very weird behavior out of Kermit on Tuesday. He apparently does not like high rise parking garages. At all. I thought he would stall around every turn; he just had no power. I don't think that he does well up hills at slow speeds. Or, maybe he is claustrophobic. Either way - I don't think I want to park him in one of those again.

This will be a non-MINI weekend. My wife has driven away in it.

I will continue to try to get our 25 year old hot tub to work. I think I have all the parts, but you never know until you get into the project.

It rain like a bugger last night. This morning is beautiful so I better get out there while I can.

I continue to hope for Bluebell's safe and swift return to you minicounter. I have to give Frodo up for a few days after T-giving for some warantee work, but this is nothing like you are going through.

Enjoy the long weekend everyone. Hope you have a three dayer.

Well, got something from the DMV today, but it WASN'T the plates! It was a rejection slip. Apparently SCQQP is too likely to be confused with SCOOP. Bah! I am very upset right now.

(I know, I know. . .I still have my little Scoop safe in the garage. I shouldn't be that upset.) BAH!

So back to the drawing board for new plate ideas. Do you think they'll reject STPD DMV ???

No fun - but they probably wouldn't catch the irony of STPD DMV. Just being flip, about SKOOP or SCOOOP or THCOOP or MYSCOOP.

I still haven't seen my plate although it has been approved. Things are dreadfully slow up in WA.

Woo Hoo! The first thing my mother said when she got in Scoop was, "Ooh, she's SASSY!" Well, she is, and I haven't forgotten that. So. . .after about 30 tries w/DMV, I plugged in SASSY MC and it worked! Sassy MINI Cooper and MC are my initials as well. It isn't SCQQP, but it's good. Now I can just go back to my regular stressed-out non-compulsive persona!
BTW Kimberely, STPD DMV WAS available! Can you believe it?:impatient

Mini2Na~ You needed to fix the hot tub this past summer when we were all on the Tagus and waiting, waiting! That sounds soooo nice! We're one of the few So Cal families who don't have a pool. Right now I don't have a bathtub in the master bath; all the stuff from the garage to make room for baby (the MINI, of course!) is in the bedroom. Is that car loved, or what?

Lil A ~ now we know why I didn't have my plates! Grrr. Ah well.

Minicounter~ Any news?

scoopmama - Sorry about your first choice not working out but I like "sassy mc" that will be great - especially with the double meaning

Kimberely - Weird about the parking garage... 'course I don't blame him... I'm claustrophobic and scared of heights myself!

Mini2na - Hope your wife and baby return safely.

The last I heard on Friday was that the latest part that came in still didn't make things right so they are ordering another one I think. They tell me they have their best surgeon working on her. I tried to get a better loaner car but they didn't have anything...

It didn't rain like they promised - I shouldn't be a Scrooge but It's making me crazy...

My husband's birthday is the 19th and I had planned to take him away for the weekend to the coast in our fun new car. He has been in the wheelchair for over a year now and it looks like several more months I was hoping to brighten his spirits. My busy season starts again the first of the year so this is the best time for us to get away and do fun stuff.

However, to put it all in perspective - this last week one friend lost her house and everything she owned in a fire and another friend of my son's lost her baby 1 week before scheduled delivery We really are blessed and I know it will work out - at least I'm not trying to deal with our local dealer. My husband used to work there and I know what kind of response I would be getting

I have been guessing that you are an accountant (your screenname being a clue). Although not confirmed by any stretch - I think that it is fun that we have two in the teaching profession and two accountants (yes, I am one ) in our group. What does Lil A do? I might have missed that post if he has said one way or another. Minicounter - if I am wrong at my guess - what makes you so busy at the beginning of the year?

You got me! My condolences to you.. or congratulations depending on the day - right. Ok so now we can baffle our friends with our own collection of acronyms! I wouldn't have smelt you out either - I guess we have to live out our alter-egos or creative sides through forums like this and the change from 'Clark Kent' when we get in our babies!

So are you in public practice or private? I have a small firm here in rural America. Lots of 1040 stuff and small businesses. I enjoy being able to work with the people I grew up with and providing a place for others to learn. I'll never get rich - but I love working and living here. It's quite a change from what I was doing in Seattle.

My title is Accounting Manager, but I am pretty much a one man band for a glass subcontractor. Our work is pretty well seen across the I-5 corridor even if our name isn't well known. We did all of the glass for the spires of the Portland Convention Center, most of the glass/skylights at PDX airport, and have done work at about every mall and school from Eugene to Seattle. (Pride everywhere!!) Always good to have another numbers-cruncher friend.

Cool. I will think of you when I head north! For a couple years just before I left Seattle I worked for a homebuilder who built high-end / in-city spec homes. One of the homes was even used in a movie. He is still one of my favorite clients. I loved being part of an organization that made something tangible and 'real'!

I wonder if the MINI is a natural outlet for us. In our very small MINI group down here we have another bean-counter!

Minicounter and Kimberely, glad you found each other.

Scoopmama - great plate with some great meaning.

The hot tub is up to temp and ready for today. I did the last bit of fill this morning and thought I'd have it ready for my wife when she gets up later. It will be nice to have it back.

Did a COSTCO run yesterday. We had Frodo nearly stuffed to the roof. It holds quite a bit of cargo... if the cargo is shaped correctly.

The rain started a few minutes ago. It supposed to storm today. Yesterday was wonderful . We got to the leaves that were down.

That is next weeks project - I still have one stubborn willow that is holding on to a good portion of its leaves. I'd rather do this once than every week.

I was just looking at the new posts and thought my old Boheme thread was revived - turns out she taking a new load of MINIs to the states ... ah the memories. I'll have to wait until a few of them check in and wish them a safe voyage. I wonder if Tharkin is still helping the newbies through the experience? He sure helped us...

Not hanging around online from the looks of it. If weather was nice, hopefully they were engaged in fun motoring. I, on the other hand, spent the day engaged in keying payroll. Always a joy.

If the weather was nice.... If the weather was nice??? That was one nasty Monday. Not too much rain, but enough to add to the wind to make it pretty cold while finishing up the hot tub job. The good news is that it is done and working. It was nice to sit in the drizzle last night with my wife and two girls. It is often hard to trap all of them in the same place at the same time, let alone within a 6ft radius.

Got some Christmas shopping done too. We are pretty far along with shopping for the girls, but I have NO clue what to get my wife. She want's an Audi A4 w/chrome package, but that is going to have to wait a bit since Frodo is the new baby now. Something will come to me.

Have a good week everyone! Hope Bluebell comes back home. Make sure you let us know if you are going to be in PDX at the end of a weekday or on a Saturday.

Hi fellow educators, friendly accountants, and others (Lil A!)

Thrilling day off. Got to go through cabinets and create an efficient shopping list. Woo-hoo!

But efficiency is good. Back to a crazy day at work. No prep, lunch or after school time. Meetings until 4:45 etc. Same tomorrow, then Thursday can breathe!

Kimberely, you were the one who figured out that Mini2Na must like sushi. Wow, what a wonderful, analytical brain! What clued you in to Minicounter? I'm impressed!

My friends who like numbers just impress the heck out of me. They actually LIKE doing taxes and stuff. Amazing! My eyes just start to glaze over, and I nod politely as they go on and on and on!

Ok, Kimberely and Minicounter. Give us your favorite acronym and see if the rest of us can figure it out!
