Hello everybody, im not sure if I am going to order the mini cooper or the MCS. Im not sure if I want to spend 28k for a MCS thats why I might consider the mini cooper. Well I am here to look around and ask alot of questions. Thanks NAM!

make sure you drive both several times. I have the MCS but if I were to buy again I would go with the MC.....many say the power is worth it but the essence of this car is the handling not the power you will have just as much fun in the MC as the MCS.....save the 3k and put it on the mortgage payment or something that doesnt depreciate

Test drive both before you decide. Lots of extra standard things on the MCS than just the turbo. If your gonna wait, wiat for what you want.

 

my girlfriend has a 06 mini cooper, it doesn't get up fast enough from the 0-20 range, however it is fun to drive. I test drove a 07 mc and I know it has more hp than the 06 and it weighs less. The acceleration was ok. However I dislike all that chrome on the grill for the MC. If I get the MC and not the MCS I will definetly try to swap out that grill. Could I add the jcw turbo kit to the MC later down the line? I want a automatic too.

 

If you want a automatic,I don't think that you'll as much power compared with the standards. I own a MC and it's perfect for me. I don't race though, just everyday driving. Good luck with your MINI hunt.

don't know much ahout the R56 specifically but technically probably yes, but not at the dealership or MINIUSA, it would be a pretty extensive & expensive "mod" and you won't have any warranty on that engine...

 

aw that sucks! well maybe i just need to wait on some upgrades and just get the very base MCS.

 

I definately say wait for what you want. It makes more sense to wait an extra month or two if you can and save up for the items that are most important and dont skimp on things

Hey, by the time you option out the MC, you'll probably have spent nearly as much as you would on the MCS. I bought the MCs because of the MPGs, not the savings.

By the way, can you go up to that catfish shack near the corner of 29th street and Douglas over by Tinker AFB and send me about 5 pounds of fried catfish ? Best I've ever had. Wish I could remember the name of that little joint.

 

well i do what something alittle quick. The MCS gas mileage isn't that bad still.

I dont know what catfish shack you talking about over there. I really don't go over there much although i am from mwc.

 

Just as well... fried catfish doesn't travel well.

 

Trust me. Wait for exactly what you want or you'll just be trading cars off. I got a Honda Civic Si as a MINI substitute. It didn't work. Get exactly what you want and keep it and enjoy it.

yea im goign to start off with a mcs with hardly anything on it, no sunroof, anthracite liner, 16' bridge spokes, leatherette, xenon projectors(gotta have those!) and thats about it. How bad is the non automatic a/c heater unit? Im thinking about a sparking silver with matching roof.. That should run about 26k after all those fees are added.

a JCW full kit!!!! Love non-auto a/c; non-rain sensing wipers, non-heated seats, no leather to crack and make me worry and heat up the rear end in summer, no auto-dimmer mirror...no automatic nothing....just a cabrio with cruise and traction control and ............oh yeah...........a jcw klt.
