Hey Guys and Gals
Hey Guys and Gals
I was instructed by NAM to make this introductory post...
I do not own a MINI yet, but as my sig says, I am currently saving and looking for an 02-05 MCS. I got directed here by another member who is a good freind of mine. My goal is to put a good down payment on a MCS by the beginning of my next semester in school.
Now, a little background...not that many of you care, but it is 2am and I cannot sleep. I have been a car person all my life, ever since I learned a few words. My mother says I called every Ford Escort on the road "nanny's car" back when I was a young tot. I am a die hard American Car, RWD, V8 fan, so a MINI for me is a huge stretch. But, to my defense I have had a strange obession with Minis all my life, and they are some of my favorite cars, along with cars like the 1970 Chevelle SS454 LS6. Doesn't exactly fit the mold, does it?
It will be my first car with such a small engine (smallest so far is my current 3.3L daily driver), but I do about 300 miles a week of driving and at this point getting 15 mpg on a good day is getting old. I refuse to buy an asian car, so I have decided on a MINI.
I am a college student at Millersville University, studying for a Technology Education Bachelors Degree. I will be a junior when I return in the fall and so far I am enjoying my college education. I work as a cell phone salesman for Cingular, which I enjoy doing (most of the time
), so if you guys and gals have any questions concern said cell phone service, do not hesitate to ask.
I guess that's all I have to say about that, except I am glad to have found another good online community and cannot wait to get a MINI home.

Welcome to NAM!! I'm a big V8 RWD fan myself [i have an older Corvette]
but when I got my first Mini I never had so much enjoyment driving it. I soon traded for a 06MCS and love it even more. Now I only drive the vette to car shows once in a while. Once you get one you'll understand what I mean.

The only american car I've ever owned was a Dodge Dakota truck. Other than the truck, the only RWD car I've had was a 1963 VW beetle. I've ridden my old high school buddies' Camaro RS and Mustangs, Monte Carlos and T-birds, but I never liked them. I thought they all handled like a fishing boat. But I'm not really a straight-line fiend - I like the twisties.
Welcome to NAM! There are tons of people on here who know what's up w/ MINIs. You'll enjoy the car and NAM.
