OK, tranny rebuild was a success! Also changed rear control arm bushing and front lower control arm bushing! As well as rebooting the inner half shaft boots. On the test drive I have a hard pull the drivers side... Almost enough to make a left hand turn (it's bad). Could I have installed something wrong or is an alignment the fix?

Any suggestions? Also have the dreaded leaky boot issue... All problems occurred back when we had our flood here in SC, about a foot of water. I parked Coopa up on the hill under the garage roof... And somehow the boot was filled with water. After draining that, next thing I know is the tranny blows on me (main drive gear lost a tooth). Anyways, any suggestions as to the hard pull to the left hand side? How about the the bonnet leak?

BTW, it's Justa Coopa.

Yes, the steering could be that bad. I'd check over everything, we have a great DIY that can help you go over the steps to make sure the install went smoothly and then get an alignment as soon as you can. So you said boot and bonnet, but I'm going to assume you just mean boot? Do you have a sunroof? If so, check the rear sunroof drains and make sure they are not clogged. Also, check the rear seal on the hatch and even the third brake light as those are common failure points. Check out this thread here, which lists a lot of great information about possible leak areas as well.

Sounds like something is majorly wrong , like the diff is messed up or the spline for the axle is not in the shaft on the one side ?

If you replaced control arm bushings and didn't do an alignment that would almost definitely be your pull. An axle not getting power would keep the car stationary as the differential needs power distributed to either axle to function otherwise it will spin the axle end with the least resistance thus keeping you in a neutral stage.

Do an alignment.

Unless you somehow got the steering spindle a complete turn off, you need an alignment. (To be sure just count how many rotations you get either way lock to lock, they should be equal.)

Thanks guys, I greatly appreciate all input. I'm thinking it may be what nkfry mentioned as I did have a bit of trouble getting that steering hooked back up. I'll check this first as its the easier of recommendations and go from there. Hope to be back in the MINI by Monday!
