headlight female connector burnt

I have 10 Clubman. Recently my driver side headlight was not working well and this is what I have found... The male connector pin was bented I guess...

Has anyone else had problem like me?

Is this something covered by my warranty?

Yea, looks like it grounded itself out. Was the headlight repairer due to a wreak maybe at some point, then clipped or damaged? Is there a part number on the side 11 digits?

You would have to check with your MINI dealer on the warranty.

My passenger side driving light recently when out. I was able to temporarily fix it by disconnecting/ re-connecting, but it's out again. I'm going to try changing the bulb next, but WHAT is that blue goop in the connector? Is that some anti-rust thing that's suppose to be there or is it suppose to be clean metal? It would be TOO weird if something so inaccessible had a foreign body in it.

Looks to me like your connection somehow came loose and was shorting out from intermittently touching / vibrating against the male bulb connection. This generates arcing with a lot of heat thus the burned end. If you still have a factory warranty on your MINI, it should be covered. If not, it's not an expensive fix to replace the female connection by simply splicing in a new one.

The blue goop on the connector is a dielectric grease which provides a better electrical connection and reduces metal corrosion on the plug.
