Eric's Riverrun 2010
Well if you went last year you know how much fun it is & if you didn't it's about time you have some fun too.
Eric's Riverrun 2010
SATURDAY, MAY 29, 2010
Eric’s Riverrun is a 320 mile, all-day driving tour using some of Ohio’s most interesting
and challenging roads. This year we’ll go southwest through West Union to Augusta on
the river. After lunch at one of the Augusta, KY restaurants (recommended), we’ll head
east along the river and wind through the wonderfully twisty roads in Shawnee State
Forest. SR 772 takes us to Chillicothe, then up SR 104 to Circleville for a finish at
Wittich’s.
Cars leave Bob Evans at I-71 and Stringtown Rd. in Grove City between 8 and 9 am. We
should be at the Ohio River around Noon and finish by 6 pm., depending on the time
spent sightseeing. There is no fixed schedule nor any assigned speeds, other than posted
speed limits. This is a tour rather than a rally. The route includes a mix of open and
flowing paved roads that connect tight and twisty sections.
The North American MGB Register, the Buckeye Miata Club, and the Central Ohio British
Car Club Council invite all driving enthusiasts, regardless of vehicle make, model, or type,
to join us on Eric’s Riverrun 2010. Check out the roads at: http://tinyurl.com/YAR9L8A
and http://tinyurl.com/YLBBHJ6
Contact Susan Logan at slogan.osu@gmail.com or (740) 363-2203 after April 1st for more
details and to reserve your spot. There is a $10 entry fee to cover organizational
expenses. The ferry from Higgensport to Augusta charges $5/car.
All profit will be donated in Eric Jones’ memory to
The James Cancer Hospital for Mesothelioma Research Fund.

We are planning on going. Does anyone have a suggestion for a hotel near Easton? Figure after a day of all driving of staying overnight, Spawn wants to hit Easton Mall on Sunday, "since we are going to be down there anyway".

then there is this up there too... sounds cheaper even

There is also a Residence Inn and Courtyard Mariott within walking distance of Easton...not sure if they are pricey either, but I would bet yes

We will be there! Might recruit some friends to join. I'm totally stoked about it. I'll be missing everyone when I'm gone in Michigan But I'll be sure to visit for the breakfasts.
Those are all good, I also like using Priceline (negotiator) I've got the app on my iPhone. LOL.
I've also been pleased with the "Microtel" near Marcus Theater. 23 & I-270.

For those of you going on Riverrun it is important that you send an e-mail to Susan Logan. We will only print enough routes for those who register.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Sure there is room! Just send Susan Logan an e-mail letting her know you are coming. slogan.osu@gmail.com That way we can have enough route books for everyone. She is on holiday in the Netherlands so she may not respond back. Be assured if you want to come there is room.
Last year we had about 100 cars. Keep in mind this is a self guided tour so you won't be in a line of 100 cars. Most folks hook up with a few friends & run together with them. IMO this is the best way to do it. A lot of cars running together complicates matters.
Hope you can make it Doc.

I sure did! It's one of my favorite things going across old man river.

These ferries are real throwbacks to the past. I wonder how long they will continue to ply their trade.
Next time you do the SE Ohio ring cross from Fly to Sisterville.

Actually I don't have soccer that day. However, I made plans to go to the Columbus Beerfest with a friend that evening, so I still will not be going on Eric's Riverrun. I just took a look at all the photos Chuck took and it looks like a really nice trip. I'll have to make it someday.

Congrats to Spawn & her fellow Rugbians. Good show, now go win it all!
Ben if you come on Riverrun I guarantee you will be very thirsty & ready for beerfest when you get home.
