child seats?

I've done some unsuccessful searching here. I need two child seats for our MINI. I'm told that they don't all fit. Anyone using one and remember what it is?

Thanks,

This is covered in other threads, but I've got two Recaro Young Sports. They are great seats and fit great in my R56.

For what age/weight of kids?

I've use a pair of Graco Turbo Boosters (with the backpieces attached). They fit great and and the price is right... but they're not full seats, just boosters for older kids.

We recently picked up our MCS and on the first day promptly placed two Britax Boulevard front facing car seats in the back for our little ones go motoring with us. These are some fairly large car seats when compared to most on the market today. While we had to scrunch up a bit in the front to give them some room to kick their legs out, everything fit and worked fine. At the end of the day they both felt comfortable enough to fall asleep on the way home from grandma and grandpas.

I've tried a few child seats in my MINI. If you're needing a harnessed seat a forward facing Britax Marathon fits well. For boosters I've used a Recaro Start, a Britax Parkway, and a Recaro Vivo Lite. I currently have two Vivo Lites in Blue Belle.

Kid Mods

I have the Recaro Start for my big boy 2 1/2 year old in charcoal and it matches the leatherette well and provides the side of head protection I like. Looks sporty and that is important to me because I am a stay at home father.

Also, get the window shades MINI sells (see Morristown MINI for best price). They are great in blocking harsh sunlight and allowing little ones to see and sleep. Same stuff as the sunroof material and they look like window tint from the outside. MINI rubber floor mats are good too for all the dirt, rain and snow they haul in to the car.

While you're at it see Amazon and get the Talus Highroad BP-BLACK BackPockets seat back organizer to protect the back of the front seats from their shoes and the Two Stage Car Seat Protection - Black.

If you really want to go all out, get the JCW tuning kit - on the highway it sounds like a turboprop and lulls them to sleep.

Hope this helps!

I have to move the driver's seat forward a little when my 3 year daughter rides. I have never tried rear facing carseats. Any forward facing seat will fit.

We took both kids with us in a Britax Marathon and Roundabout on a test drive. Whiles it's a bit of a pain maneuvering the seats into place, once in place they were fine (w/ LATCH). As long as the kids are not incorrigible seat kickers, you should be fine.

We use the Britax Boulevard and it fits fantastic! The rear headrest even slides down over the top of the child seat and does not have to be removed or in the raised position. The Mini latch system works great also.

Thank for the replies all. It turns out it isn't diffucult to fit a seat in the MINI. We went with a garden variety Evenflo.

Our oldest son, who almost never falls asleep in the car, fell asleep on his first ride. I guess what people say about the ride putting kids to sleep is true.
