R56 Damage to bumper
Damage to bumper
So I hit a dog or fox last night.

And this is why I love my wife.. she says,"well is there anything you can replace it with to make it better? You're always replacing things anyway..."
So... JCW bumper cover? new fog lights? Help me out here guys please... what would it take to put a JCW bumper on my R56?

Buy JCW bumper with brake ducts if you like that look. You can get it from the mini dealers. Not cheap if you include painting and install unless you are a DIY.

Forgot to mention, it takes about two hours to remove and install the bumper. Buy some fender clips just in case you snap them.
While you have it off, consider installing the helix IC as well. Just an extra 5 minutes once everything is off anyway.

Yep, unless you carry a big Comp deductible, that's enough damage to present a claim.
If you want a JCW bumper, your insureance compay will pay for a new standard bumper and you just pay the difference.

When I got a small crack from a lady that rolled back into me in my S bumper... they deemed it replace... So the claim included an S bumper, grill, inserts, clips, etc etc, with $ amounts. I spoke with the body shop and was able to have them order the JCW bumper cover, clips, lower grill insert, fog inserts, and the two splitter pieces. Same cost to paint it either way, and same for install. I paid $86 to cover the difference out of pocket.
Biggest win ever.

What is required (extra parts) to put on the JCW bumper? does anything have to be changed to put that bumper on a Justa?
I'm sorry I'm not fluent yet...."While you have it off, consider installing the helix IC as well."
What is that? Are those driving lights?
I'd like to have better fog/driving lights there too.. and I might as well replace them with better ones than those horrible little marker lights the car has now.
This looks like I will need only from the bumper down... the JCW grills/surrounds I have are fine.

Would this give me everything (and I mean everything aside from lights) I need?

Fender clips, I don't pull on them. I use needlenose pliers, get on the inside of wheel well and clip them together and pull it out. All fender clips always intact.
I'm pretty sure the helix IC is an intercooler for the MCS turbo. We justa owners don't have a turbo. If you're considering changing out your parking lights for oem or aftermarket fog lights this would be an excellent time to do it. The fogs can be changed without removing the bumper but it would definitely be easier to change them with the bumper off.
Eh, personally, I take my front bumper so often, it takes about 30 mins to remove and put back together

I was told that the brighter driving lights from MINI would need different wiring and it would be more than simply putting in new lights. Would there need to be something changed besides adding the lights and wiring?
For sure. It would have to be painted in any case and it would make more sense that the body shop would do it that would paint it Astro Black anyway.

I dislike swapping wiring harnesses, etc. Especially in really tight spaces.
