Creaking Sound when Depressing Brake Pedal

Hey everyone,

I’ve got a new development on my F56. Depressing the brake pedal creates this creaking/clicking sound. See the video, I think it should be pretty audible.

The sound seems to come from the middle/rear, but I’m not confident in that.

Any thoughts? Has anyone run into this before? When driving the brakes seem to function just as well as ever, and no codes about needing to change pads.

If that sound is inside the cabin, then check the pedal hinge bushings. If that sound is from one of the wheels, I would make sure your slide pins are not seizing up so the caliper can self-center itself. That is where I would start.

thanks. Checked the slide pins, they were fine.

I put the pads back in with some brake grease and it went away. Came back several days later just as loud. It’s odd. It’s like the brake pads are sticking.

Is there some corrosion built up on the caliper/bracket that the pads ride against? If so, you may need to wire wheel/abrasive clean those areas, so the pads can more freely move back and forth. I have had to clean off the pad contact surfaces each time I have replaced my pads, but I live in the rust belt and the car is a DD.
