Buying a set of 2022 JCW 18" takeoffs
Thinking of buying a set of 2022 Cooper JCW 18" takeoff wheels with tires. Wheels are in perfect condition with the factory Pirelli tires. Question is, do I have to pair up the TPMS sensors from these new wheels or will my 2022 Cooper JCW recognize them automatically? Thanks.
If it's like the 2019 when I put my snows on this year, the car detected the change and took me right to the tpms screen in the menu. It basically ran a recalibrate, and was good to go. When I go back to the summers (eventually) I assume it will follow the same process.
The snows are on factory 16" rims.... so I assume the tps are there. But I haven't had any reason to actually get a low reading. I guess I could go outside to freeze and read the actual, pressures. <G>

Just to close the loop with anybody who is searching.
I recently had to replace all four tires, because of a sidewall damage. I can confirm there was no sensors inside my wheels. The system in the car still works fine....

No sensors?????????

They all are part of the valve stem.
It could be a us vs can too.... All I know, is my factory wheels didn't have a sensor and I was surprised too.
Canadian models use the wheel speed sensors to implement a "flat tire monitoring system" instead of using individual TPMS sensors in the valve stems. It makes winter tire/wheel changeover so much easier. I live in YOW btw.
