Hello everyone, quick question: do yall think a 225/40/18 tire would rub? I have a F56 MCS. I'm considering mounting onto a set of 18x7.5 rims. Tire make is most likely Michelin, maybe Pilot Sport A/S 3's. Does anyone have any recommended tire size? I wish the rim I want came in a 8", but beggars can't be choosers.

Thank yall!

I just ordered a set of 18x 8 and am wondering what tire size to use as well (see Enkei VR5). Still waiting for a knowledgeable opinion.

I was thinking 215 40 18 on 8", may make your 225 on 7.5 about the same maybe a bit wider? not sure.

but will they fit/rub? hummmm

225 is about as wide as you want to go, but if it rubs or not is all based on the offset of the wheel and where it sits in the wheelwell. I have 17x7.5 wheels, with a +45 offset, with 215/45/r17 Michelin Pilot Sper Sports, and I could probably fit 225/45 in there just barely. Sometimes a test fit is the only way to be sure.

how much clearance do you still have with the 215s? Also, does DDC reduce clearance at all?

I'll have to get underneath to measure clearance, but I don't have DDC, so I'm not sure if that changes anything.

There are quite a few people running 225s, and most claim they don't rub. Though to me, just visually, all of them look to me to poke a little too much in the front. So that's subjective- keep doing research and see if you agree or not =)

Seems like the best offset in most cases is around +42. But if you were to get something like +45 or +50 (not sure what's common), you could fine-tune with spacers.

HTH, a little!
