Brake Replacement-2014 Cooper S

Hey there friends,

I'm getting close to replacing the rear brakes on my 2014 Cooper S. I'm toying with the idea of replacing rotors and pads on all 4 corners instead of doing one axle at a time. However, I'm having a helluva time finding finding replacement rotors for this car. Tire Rack doesn't offer anything for 2014's and only rears for 2015's (which makes no sense). ECS offers Fremax for the fronts (which I've never heard of) and Zimmerman's for the rear. Nothing is consistent. OEM parts are a very last resort.

Help me out, guys. I'd like to get slightly-better-than-OEM performance but I don't want to pay OEM price, ya dig? What route should I go? I'll also take some pad recommendations if you've got 'em.

Matt

The only thing that matter when it comes to rotors is whether they are coated or not. Brand, not so much. You'll get a bigger change in performance with different pads, than different rotors.

I'm not voting yes or no on vendors, only that way motorworks has some options.

We offer several pad options already and more will be coming. Bad thing is most companies making pads still don't have the correct ones and will ship the wrong pads since they haven't realized what is different about them.

EBC is on order, but not here yet.
So we have some TRW ceramics for the front. Not used them, but should be lower dust.

then we have the Textar which is who makes the factory MINI pads

and for rotors we have our WMW rears ready, but no fronts yet

Zimmerman are good too, but no rears yet

Then of course OEMs

all these rotors have coating on the hats

As the cars get older more options will come, but they are slow since so many are still under warranty.
