Do you have pictures of the wheels/tires? What color are they? What part of the country are you in?

As of 5 minutes ago I was getting a new bmw 335 - the twin turbo. But these are company cars and I was just informed that "a decision has not been made." I thought it was

I priced a new 06 with the same options plus aero and JCW suspension. The cost? A hair over 38K without tax. I love the car, but it has an awful lot of competition at that price. A 328 with leather, heated seats, 18" wheel and tire package(includes much nicer seats) and a host of other goodies is a few dollars over 40K with tax. The 335 is mid 42K as a fairly basic car...add $1,500.00 for heated seats and the 18" wheel and tire package(with better seats). The 335 pulls like a train from way down low. It's not M3 agile, but it is definately an able handler - first hand experience. Long sweepers are wonderfull in this car.

Mike,
Good luck with the sale of the car!!! I figured you for an Elise type of guy though!!

My Infiniti is for sale if you are looking down that route as well (shameless plug)!!

Are you going to be tracking this new car as well? From reading the articles on the 335, it seems like it is a screamer with that TT motor. Basically a M3 with an $8000 discount!!

I am an Elise type guy, but there are others formulating ideas about what I should and should not drive for a company car. They're paying the bill so I have to work with them. Frankly, I'm very very fortunate, so I'll not complain. But an Exige or regular Elise would have been a great car; I think the Elise would have taught me a lot about driving...it's not an easy car to move along from what I've heard.

I will track the 335 (and there is a meeting set in two minutes to discuss this... or ???), but I'll leave it alone - no mods...well, perhaps a little camber up front. I really need to focus on buying a track dedicated car. These compromise set-ups never work on the track or road.

The 335 does not handle as crisply as the current M3...it feels torquy by comparison and easier around town. I still think an M3 in good hands will run and hide from a 335, but it will take work...I;ll let you know...

Nice to hear from you by the way! When you going back to LRP?

Michael
