Yup- we're crafty

OK, so we made our own MINI cookie cutters.
It was a lot of work, but worth it!
I made a whole huge batch for my work party.
And yes, Jesse made a Mustang cookie cutter.
All we used was a roll of thin metal and some pliers.
100 cookies later, the cutters are holding up great!
I'll probably be making more for the family party.

Count me in as well, and in the mean time I'll be trying to fashion my own cookie cutter out of some others. Who knows how many perfectly good cutters I'll destroy in the process!

Wow. I'm impressed with the cookies some of you have posted. I can bake, but I'm not sure I can come close to the skill of decorating I've seen on this thread. Keep me on the list. I want a cutter too.

Sissy, I am so with you girl!! I can bake like a champ, but the decorating is a whole other game all together.

Those of you who have decorated those car cookies into MINIs are simply amazing in my book!!

I would also love to have a cutter, just let me know where to send the $$. I'll at least give it a shot.

Where's Mr.Fireman? Anyword on people to produce these?

I got a response from one company but they would be the plastic kind of cookie cutters, not the cool metal kind. hmmm?

I tried one of those make your own kits from the craft store. I cut myself a few times on the metal ahhh. We need to find a company that can make these.

Late to the party here, but I'd be interested too! Not a problem that the cookie cutter(s) wouldn't be here in time for this Holiday season - my oven isn't working right now anyway!

She could use Pillsbury's refrigerated, sugar cookie dough. I've used it on occasion and never told anyone any different. The hard part will be the decoration.

Yeah, not likely Her gift has been sitting in the kitchen in the open for over a week and she has not even seen it... does that tell you how many times she goes in the kitchen

There's a company in my 'burb that sells cookie cutters (www.cookiecutter.com). I gave them a call to see if they could lend any direction. The owner said he didn't know of anyone that would do a custom run of less than 1,000 for a price less than $10-$15 each. He suggested www.kitchengifts.com for a custom copper cutter. I looked into those but it's pricey!! I'm thinking their "Make Your Own Cookie Cutter" kit might have to do.

Sorry!! It's been a while since my last post. I've been busy with school ending and the holiday season starting and.... The Southern Ontario MINI Club (SOMC) had a Christmas party so I put my baking skills and lack of cookie cutters to work and ended up with...:

SOMC stands for the Southern Ontario MINI Club! (higher res pic in my gallery)

I still want in for the cookie cutters. I bid and won an auction from Austria on the set of cookie cutters on eBay, however I have sent payment and they haven't responded to any of my messages :S So I'm quite sad about that. I was supposed to get those ones in time for the Christmas party but since I didn't have them, I cut out these cookies with a knife. Using a stencil I made and printed out. The cookie process took about 4.5 hours and the icing part was deadly haha. I love how they turned out though!! I can't wait for real cookie cutters..... To make baking lil MINIs even more fun

Good job, Lilcooper. I can only imagine how difficult that was. I'll have to wait on the cookie cutters.

tsukiji: good job, clean work too. How have the cookies come out?

I soldered my own cookie cutter last year, had to relearn that there is such a thing as too much heat.

VERY VERY nice, Kurt!!

The decorating process is simply brutal. At 5am when I was doing mine, my feet were starting to hurt from standing in the kitchen for so long... I started snacking on the undecorated MINIs to make it so I had less to decorate!!

Yours turned out fantastically!
