My build date was March 04 & Anthracite was offered to me when ordering in Feb. by my sales advisor... Wish I'd gone for it!

interesting, considering I called Classic MINI trying to order anthracite for my car, and they couldn't find anything under my VIN (Apr 04 build) so they had to search under a 2005...and made sure to state they werent responsible if it didnt fit.

You & I were both on the "cusp" so to speak. All I know is what the salesman offered....Of course, I didn't go for it. Maybe if I had, he may have said "Oh, I'm sorry, unfortunately that's not available yet..." but he said "That anthracite's nice isn't it!" At any rate, he offered the 3-spoke steering wheel too which I've often regretted not going for as well...

well, i just put in the anthracite headliner in today. everything was the same except for the grab handles, my 04 only has two in the rear, the 05s apparently have 4 handles, on by each seat.

So even without the extra handles it fit, right? If so, good to know...That'll be on my wishlist!

Nice! Did you have to pull the seats to remove the headliner??

nope, just laid the front and rear seats forward. I honestly dont see how removing them could help. it was the opening in the rear that was the tight spot. I had to bow the headliner to remove and put in the new one, just be careful to only bow it and not crease it. its a VERY tight fit, but with an extra set of hands its not bad. the gf even said "that was simple enough"
