MiniUSA/Fireballed!™Racing’s “World’s Fastest Mini” Becomes World’s First 10 Second Mini
(Englishtown, New Jersey October 2006) As if an 11 second Mini Cooper S just wasn’t enough, the boys at Fireballed! Racing shattered that World Record to an astonishing 10.62 seconds at 128mph. An asphalt crunching 1.6 60ft time!! But a record like that wasn’t the only thing that this little Mini took home as they also won the BEST DESIGNED DRAGSTER over 400 other cars from super-host ESPN.
MiniUSA’s Jeff Stracco was on hand as the weekend began shakily Friday at the NHRA Sport Compact Nationals. The Fireballed! team of Hubie Fuh, Chris Amatulli, Brian White, Jason Bowman, UK newcomer Paul Webster and team leader Fireball Tim hammered away to fix an engine problem resulting in the removal of the ported head, only to replace it with the stock factory head. Yes, the stock head, folks! And after some hot fireball flashing, the final race on Sunday resulted in one of the largest Mini happenings in recent history. The World’s first 10 second Mini.
“I’ve never seen a Mini launch like that before,” said one spectator. “It was on fire!”
Over 10,000 spectators watched the lil’ beast rocket the track like lightning, but the biggest surprise of the day came when ESPN announced that the M600 Flamethrower had also won the BEST DESIGN AWARD. A double achievement for MiniUSA and Fireballed! Racing’s movie car designer, Fireball Tim.
