NAM Mobile Apps are now live!
I have to confess I've downloaded the app, but am still using the web site. I haven't yet found a good (to me) way to go through all the posts. Maybe I need to take a longer look at it, since all I see are positive remarks. I'll have to try harder!
It means somebody posted on a thread that you subscribed to. Just open the app and go to the thread and read it. The number should go away.
On the iPad: at the bottom of the screen you can see Forums, Current, Messages, Profile, Search, Subscribed, Online & More. Tap on the "Subscribed" button and all the threads that you subscribe to will display.
On the iPhone: same setup, just tap on "More", then tap "Subscribed" and you can see the threads/forums you are currently subscribed. The new ones that you haven't read yet are shown in bold font, while the ones you have already read are not. I hope this helps you. :-)
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 running Ice Cream Sandwich.
I had a look at the app, but didn't download it. Under the list of changes it makes is that it prevents the tablet from sleeping. Is there a way to disable that feature? I don't want to put the tablet down, forget that the app is open and have the app drain the battery.

No offense - just feel it's worth the feedback... No forum is worth installing a separate app for. All of the other forums I visit work on Tapatalk which allows me to have everything in one place.
I'm an active member on a number of Miata forums (among others), but actually don't frequent MiataTurbo (another Internet Brands forum) for the same reason - no Tapatalk support.
Assuming the objection to Tapatalk is the lack of ads, I can see two arguments there:
1) you're apparently now doing "sponsored posts" as ads, which would presumably show up in Tapatalk, and
2) the forums I visit on Tapatalk when mobile I also visit on the desktop when I'm not, and get subjected to the advertising then.
Then I guess there's the supplementary argument that other competing forum conglomerates use Tapatalk and still manage to turn a profit.
Pretty disappointing from an end-user standpoint.

Worked great till a few days ago. Now I keep getting a "parse error" on about 90% of threads I try to read. There is a report button on the parse error and I've tapped numerous times. Please fix. Mean time I will use my browser. Thanks, I love this forum but wish the app was fixed.

Hmm maybe it's just me but I've seen a couple errors.
First, when I create a thread I figured it would show up in threads I participated in. Instead I have to reply to some one else who replied to my thread to get this to show up there.
Second, when typing in a new thread that I'm creating, once I get about 3/4 of the way down te screen I cannot see my text anymore.
I have a feeling the second one might have to do with the fact I'm using an iPhone 5 which has the larger screen, so things are being cut off after a certain area. But the first one seems to be a coding thing. It's set up to look for threads you've responded to, not those and threads you've created.
Other than that, love the app. Makes my goofing off at work a little less obvious.
