A funTarHeel MINI Motoring Club event! Could be epic this year as we all find some MINI motoring time.....and of course Colin getting some more Dragon Therapy! Lol
This guy might be down. Need to leave the wife at home so I can have more fun.
TarHeel MINI Motoring Club puts on a welcome dinner in Bryson City, Ice Cream run to Soda Pops, Water Fall run.......this is a fun weekend! Not just Dragon Runs. Lol. Hopefully all of the above is still happening, more details as it gets closer........
I plan to also hit the Dragon Hill Climb road and 270 degree view overlook!
Saturday afternoon got busy and slow on the Dragon. So, after doing the Dragon Hill Climb I stopped at the end at the newly rebuilt overlook platform.....perfect spot for my hammock and a nap!

so there won’t be a day of over 100 miles just on the Dragon. So might need to bring the wife.
We don’t know which Hickory Cabin we will be in, but count on that cabin’s porch for Moonshine on the Dragon most nights after evening Dragon Runs of course! Lol. Byob and bring a chair too! See y’all soon! Whooo hoooo!
Got my PTO in for the weekend, couldn’t get Thursday off, but working from home might lead to me leaving around 4 am so I can be online from TN by 930 am. Then maybe I check out around 330 or so for some dragon time.
We have 7 people heading down from Ohio and PA and boy are we getting jazzed about spending time with other MINIacs! Now, if I can spend a little more time socializing (while also social distancing) and drag myself off the Dragon! Lol. I’m going to try this MSSD! (Helps that this will be my 5th time down to the Dragon this pandemic! Lol)

This will be my 5th time as well since 3/1/20, last time was fun following this guy. 1 week from now I should be getting some practice runs in. If we somehow pull off our own thing and grab a few other mini’s, that would be bad ***, might need a disclaimer for the week stomachs out there 😉
I hope to come too
first timers I live near Bristol and the back of the dragon comes by my house
never been on the tail kind of exciting like to meet some of y’all

They do have a first timers run scheduled, won’t be spirited enough for me. This will be a first time for me meeting more than one or 2 mini’s. Tips, for solo runs, 1. Drive your drive 2. Don’t cross the yellow line 3. If faster traffic comes up from behind, be kind and pull over when you can 4. Keys eyes on road leave the scenery for the pull offs 5. Have fun and motor on

that works for me I hope those pull offs are long I have a lot of questions

there are several pull offs that are big enough for a few cars, then there are some that are just big enough for a car. Colinmini showed me a 2nd turn around that I wasn’t really aware of. Basically the store is the end of the dragon, this will be where a lot of people will stop, walk around, or just let the car cool for 10 min. When run back up the dragon the main overlook tends to be where everyone turns around, but if you keep on rolling this will take you pretty much back down the hill allowing for coasting, cooling of brakes and engine can be done here and the pull off down there is a bit bigger and flat, coasting in to a complete stop using no brakes, Colin again has this down pat and knows this road pretty well. I had fun down there by myself, making as many runs as I wanted, but I had way more fun trying to keep up with Colin, his over 10,000 miles on the dragon really shows in his lines and how he whips that R50 around.
One week from now, I’ll be driving from Pigeon Forge down to the Dragon to meet up with the early birds. I feel another 100 miles on the dragon before noon day.
