Offset recommendations for 07 MCS

Hi,

I'm looking for a set of Rota D2's for a 2007 Mini Cooper S. It appears I will have to order them to get silver ones. I'm going to get some 16 x 7s. The stock rims are 16 x 6.5 with an offset of 48 and tires are 195/55/16. I'll be looking to put 215/50/16's on which are the same diameter as the stock tires but have a shoulder width of 8.8 inches as compared to the stock width of 7.9.

I believe I can order any offset. If I find some that are already in inventory I think the two best offsets are 40 and 35.

Recommendations, especially from people who have fit some aftermarket wheels up on 07s, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,

Here is a similar situation with R56 and 215/50-16 tires. 16x7 rim used with offset +38mm. Most likely +40mm offset is OK.

For best fitment talk to Alex@tirerack.com or email him. A bigger offset number means the tire sits toward the inside of the wheel well and smaller number means the tire will stick out beyond the fenders. Rubbing occurs on the inside in the rear with the lower trailing arm and sometimes with square designed upgraded rear sway bars and rubs in the front against the larger R56 brake calipers.
