brake sensor problems

Because my 04' MCS's brake pad light came on, I went ahead and upgraded my rotors to some sweet slotted and cross drilled rotors and Hawk HPS pad. Problem is after install the the brake pad sensor light is still on. Anyone know how to get it to cut off. Let me know if anyone has run into this problem.

The sensor rubs the tip against the rotor once the pad is low and cuts the connection. Most see the broken one and replace it with a pad change. The new one just plugs in. My hawk rear pads don't have a sensor holder in the pad so I tied mine up and out of the way.

You will need to find which one is broken and either replace it or there is a way to strip back the wire and connect the leads to fake the connection.

I set off both my sensors. After replacing all 4 rotors and pads I replaced my "burnt" sensors with new ones. The light stayed on for about 2 weeks or so and then disappeared on its own. I think when you do it at the dealership they erase the code with the computer. So if you replace your sensors don't be alarmed if the light is still on for a few hundred miles. Cheers.

I don't need the sensor light to tell me if my brake pads are low. I will just tie them off and out of the way like you guys suggested. Thanks!!

MINI...Being BMW to some degree has the same type of sensor system. When the circut is broken the light comes on. On my BMW years ago this happened. Just stripped the wires and tied together. At that the time however the response by the warning system was immediate. I do believe the MINI cycles if you do not erase the code. In any respects this should work.
